Primarily, I would like to be able to connect an underground pedestrian pathway to a metro station. Would keep so many folks from pouring out of the station and crossing the street.
As a side note, some parks have paths and allow connecting a pathway to them. This is good. Others seem like they should, but you can't. (Meteorite Park, for example.)
