Confused

Alright, I suppose I must be a moron. I downloaded the 8/15 patch and the 8/17 minipatch and installed them over my 1.04a game. But when I load up the game, it still says it's version 1.04a, not a beta. And many of the scenario changes detailed in the post on the beta don't seem to work - I still have Stigand (as Archbishop of Sussex) ruling Kent, for instance.

Am I doing something wrong?

Most likely that you are doing something wrong but it is hard to tell what.

When you install the betapatches (of august 15th and 17th) you will be asked if you want to overwrite certain files. Have you said 'yes' ? If you have said no then that might be the problem.

The version should say '104b patch june 3rd' or something like that.

I said yes to overwriting the files. There were only two files in the patch - both csv files - advance_names.csv and event_text.csv. Is that right?

No, there must be many, many more. And all kinds to files to.

Try installing the patches again.

Put both of the in your Crusader Kings folder and then right click on the .rar file and select 'extract here'

No, I got what I thought was the full thing...I've tried downloading it several times, and every time I just get those two files. This is in contrast to the minipatch, which only has one file. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Figured it out

Alright, I've figured it out. I had a crappy rar unzipping program that only unzipped part of it. I've downloaded winrar, and now it seems to be fine. Thanks to everyone for the help.
