A major problem with the confirmation and imperial succession laws at the moment is that vassals often vote for the ruler's spouse even if legitimate heirs are available. A particularly bad case is Durcorach, since the Cyrodillic lords will pretty much always choose Veraxia over any of his children. The confirmation and imperial succession laws should be fixed so that spouses are only eligible candidates if the ruler has no legitimate children.

Yeah, it's one of the reasons why I normally switch to tanistry (even though it's a little worse than confirmation imo). The problem could easily be fixed if children of the current monarch get a bonus candidate score so AI electors would be more likely to choose the children, like the succession type's description says. Unfortunately, it doesn't.
