A new favor use where a vassal can get pardoned by the liege.
Will this mean that, when we have an imprisonment reason (and now a way to pardon), will we be able to see what exactly the character did, beyond "Acted dishonorably towards me"?

I haven't played Conclave yet so I do not know what has been changed, but I thought there already was a faction to change succession laws and put someone else on the throne?
There are factions to do both of those things, but not at the same time.

I guess I can see the reasoning - assuming the succession law it changes to is elective and it replaces the faction that just changes succession type. It doesn't make a lot of sense to leave the ruler on the throne after a massive armed rebellion.

A new faction that can unite vassals against tyrannical rulers, change succession law and put the most liked (or the least disliked) vassal on the throne.

Ah, the "Fuck this guy" faction.

Sounds pretty gamechanging though, I hope it's reserved for exceptionally ambitious and dastardly vassals.

Best change yet!

Also, can coalitions get changes to something like "defensive pact"? The current name invokes thoughts from EU4's timeline despite not being the same.

Pardoned by the liege? This is great. It's the kind of thing that makes even contemporary politics a bit... dirty.

"My liege, your vassal was caught murdering twelve of his kinsmen and plotting to fabricate a claim on the titles of your son."

"Let him go."

"But my liege, he is a horrible man! He was even caught desecrating an altar with his Templar buddies while drinking and carousing with prostitutes!"

"Yes, but he helped me pass a law ending the authority of the council. I'd let him commit adultery with my wife to end the authority of the council."

We're actually trying out changing the name to Defensive Pact and infamy becoming threat.

Hmm if there is a faction for opposing a tyrannical ruler, wonder if there could be factions of loyalists or factions aimed at removing at people around the ruler deemed a threat by the nobility for having a undue influence on the ruler.

Sweet post. I love the Conclave additions but I'll admit the free patch options have resulted in me playing once, then never again since. The idea of shattered retreat attrition in enemy territory is just what I was looking for. It doesn't negate the ability to turn the tides if you're being chased home and adds a whole level of tactics so to when to invade and when to wage war on your own turf. Also, the song options are great, too. I wonder if they might come with a 'Now Playing' box like EU IV has?

Greetings!

It’s been a week since release and a lot of people have been playing Conclave. As usual, we have carefully listened to feedback from our players, and as @Doomdark explained last week, we’ve been looking into ways of improving the design and implementation of certain features. The two main areas of concern are Coalitions and Shattered Retreats, and we are currently testing the revised solutions. Read more about these changes in Conclave: The Near Future.

On top of this, we’ve been looking to improve the experience in Conclave further. Here’s a selection of new features:
  • A new favor use where a vassal can get pardoned by the liege.
  • A new faction that can unite vassals against tyrannical rulers, change succession law and put the most liked (or the least disliked) vassal on the throne.
  • Clarity, balancing and some new non-congenital traits in the Education system.
  • More events related to favors.
The patch also feature some quality of life improvements such as:
  • A next song button.
  • An option to ignore the music scripts and play all songs randomly (Christmas carols all year long!)
Plus about a hundred more fixes.

As soon as the changes are fully implemented and approved by our internal QA department, we will release it as a public beta to get the opportunity to gather your feedback before finalizing the patch.
How about chances for councillors to actually get somethign for themselves by being good at their job? For an example you get an event where you did extra good now you can either push the advantage towards your liege in hope of getting a favour or use it to your own advantage.

A new faction that can unite vassals against tyrannical rulers, change succession law and put the most liked (or the least disliked) vassal on the throne.

That's fantastic, but for it to be a threat to the player you really need to alter some values in the faction rebellion system, because ever since you united all rebelling faction members under a single liege faction rebellions are weak as hell. Usually even if your entire realm goes against you some cheap mercenaries + your levies are enough to beat the revolt.

The leader of the rebels needs access to more of his temporary vassals' troops.

Sounds good to me. I'm sure it has been mentioned before, but with Charlemagne you get 125% AE for taking the Saxon provinces, even though it is a scripted CB to take them.

  • An option to ignore the music scripts and play all songs randomly (Christmas carols all year long!)
This is a welcome fix. But if you’ve gone to all the trouble to have intelligent contextual song selection, why do you all continually make it worthless by making each new DLC’s songs much more likely to play? How hard would it be to intelligently re-balance the multipliers? There’s nothing wrong with boosting the likelihood of new songs, but after a couple weeks, patch it back down.
