Concern over Christmas/New Years break and the next expansion.

I'm aware that this year there will only be one more expansion and I know that paradox employees usually take a break at the end of December or beginning of January, which is completely reasonable since it's the holiday season after all. The problem is last year when Way or Life was released around this time of year the dev took a break immediately after wards which meant they couldn't patch the numerous bugs that came with the dlc.

I'm worried that this'll happen again so please consider releasing the dlc either after your break or preferably more than a week in advance of the break. I know you probably already have a schedule to follow but I can't help but feel it's kind of like shooting yourself in the foot releasing DLC this late in the year.

I believe they did not say there would be an expansion this year. They only said that there would not be two more this year. And something will be announced before Christmas at the earliest. So my bet is on January.

Well way of life was rushed into release, cause Charlemagne was less then satisfactory.
People would prefer to go back previous versión then upgrade to Charlemagne.

But horselords is different tons of mechanics and inguenity in the product. maybe some people moan and complain.
But it is there, just HL has a issue with strive for perfection for modding that it becomes a lot of work.

So they are not in such a rush to release the next expansion. As When WoL was released.
Remember WoL came really fast after Charlemagne and WoL while "many" people complain was more a commercial hit then not.

We shall see what the next expansion brings.
If it doesn't ad features I want I think with HL work done on my gaming mod. there isn't much I want unless they unlock more hardcoded features.

If they are hard walling more game over screen I think seriously am satisfied with the product now.
I don't see any of the DEV diaries that says WAUW or Impressive.

But my point of view is different from other people. so I understand that they won't support what I want.

But I really hope they are upgrading the customizer DLC so we can select the clothes we want.
Since they are nowadays tied to ID and position instead of random spawns. Dressing up court and people is fun too in downtime.
And makes all those early clothings work seem worthwhile.

Looks like they've learned their lesson, at least with CK2 anyway. If they were going to release something before Christmas, they would have already stated what the DLC was going to be.

I really sometimes feel that like a community, we complain a lot. I understand your concern, and while I also do not want to play a DLC that is flawed and bugged.. on the other hand the best support and feedback they can get is from the fans, who play much more than beta testers do. And given the history of paradox to actually listen to fans and their complains and wishes, I don't min them letting players do a lot of 'footwork' to get the feedback.

I any case, I believe they will announce the DLC but I doubt it will be on sale before Christmas. And they said that a lot of DD that are going right now are going to be in the next free patch, so I am thinking it might be that we get a big patch right before or after the next DLC...

January make sense because they haven't really shown off actual content of the expansion.

I rather have Paradox take their time and release their expansion in the new year than rushing it.

The HoI3 expansions released in june, june, and september. Not really in the xmas season.
