The peace conference system is a great step. In my last run on 1.12.6 its greatly improved, i also tested pure AI results, loaded the game with butan, and the border gore fiest is nearly 99,9% gone.

In really the Peace conference window have potencial to be re-utilized to mitigate another problems: ai dumbness and historical outcomes of end war....

1) War Plan:

In the old(near 20 yrs) game "Empire Earth II" they had a War Plan window. Was a simple idea: just help multiplayers gamers communicate to each other. But the tool just not only draw fancy stuff on map, its can manage AI behaviour of your units, its just a early version of hoi4 "battle plan".

In EEII, u sent war plan to your allies, they can "accept" or "reject it", or make a counter-proposal....

We can bring the same stuff for Hoi4, utilizing the "peace conference" window, sent a war plan to our allies, AI or human. So that way i can "suggest" to germany to perhaps stop grinding some fronts.

It can work as meta-battle plan, if AI accept a battleplan to "defend", its automatically set divisions to garrison.... Ofc Hoi4, have much more room to improve this than a 2005 game.

In hoi2 AI allies dumbness, was simple solved by "assume military control" option, that way playing as germany, i make italy sit in libia, instead of non-sensical early push into egypt/middle east.

With war plan, in hoi4 we cold solve allied ai stupidity without the "brute force" method of hoi2.

2)War conference.

Its basically a "early" "peace conference", our yalta conference, the major design flaw with current system, is that everything happen at end of war...

In a war conference, players send up arread of times their claims and objectives, it can bring lots of historical flavor, specially for those like historical run.

When war end and peace conferece come, it will try auto-fill the pre selected objectives that was set up by war conference.., ofc, if the player had claimed unrealistic outcomes that don't match his warscore, the claims are auto-cancelled.

Call a war conference will require spend tons of PP, or perhaps have great warscore, or have good relationship with faction members,,,(the economics ideas i leave to the devs). And for those who bother with historical outcome, it can have a focus thar bring historical ones, like yalta... or perhaps even molotov-ribbentrop can be reworked.

I've had the same thoughts for years. There should be a high level alliance-wide strategy that is adopted by each alliance. Instead of the completely random crapshoot that exists now with every country just doing their own thing. The faction leader would make the final decision or would have more votes than the other members.

Theaters and Fronts could be assigned to different members. A Theater/Front commander would be assigned. For example Germany would control all forces on the Eastern Front. Italian/Romanian/Hungarian forces would be subjugated to their command.

The historical conferences that happened could be tied into this alliance strategy. Periodic meetings where strategy could be adjusted.

my previous runs i was just soloing, then i had forget how many problems u get when u enter in a alliance.

In my latest run, the frankstein of "Russian Empire" was born, with lots of wargoals against some of my puppets, to avoid total confusion i joined Japan Faction, so i keep peace with "Russia Empire".

I just swaped a problem for another, Japan aside, the "Russian Empire" is very naval agressive, trying landing in everywhere and hungry to stole my america invasion.
