I, admiral Arturo Riccardi, come bearing a message concerning the rules of conduct for the war:

Oh and just fyi and I'll redo the thread closer to release and to go off rp for a second

But a few house rules I'll be implementing
1 I would really really like it if everyone could at least try to make the war last as long as possible going to the 50s and possibly 60s

1.5 I like to tell stories in my game's so I ask that everyone please role play as I find it more fun that way

you don't have to but I think it would make a more fun and enjoyable game

Rp element can include
Making specific treaties with other players.

Government talks giving territory to a nation for a set amount of time.

ultimatum and surrender options in the middle of war.
Declaring a small personal war against other players no allies can interfere in that war if you desire.
Special units that have a backstory
If you can rename commander make your own if you want give him a backstory

I'll make a special steam thread for our campaign and unit characters if you guys want that.
Any other rp suggestions you guys can think of tell me and I'll ok or deny it but I'm big on rp so most stuff is ok

2 there can be no all out attack / war declaration on the major power's before Sep 1 1939 to give everyone build up time

3 no spamming nukes before 1950 if we can keep the war going that llrocket/v2 kamikaze is fine but seeing a billion nukes would ruin the game imo

4 this one is only for my nation to Japan and I'm not doing it to be unfair But this is a battle I've always wanted to know what would have happened

In order to defeat Japan you must invade and occupy the home island's of Japan

(It was going to be called operation downfall
It was the planned invasion of Japan if we never dropped the bombs. Their are articles on it)

5 any players of minor nations are free to create their own faction and challenge the axis allies or communist if you don't want to ally with the 3 big. Power's

6 if there is workshop support and you think it will enhance the war and make it more enjoyable I'm not opposed to mods at all

7 if you have a YouTube twitch or a stream site I ask that you do record if possible . If your ok with streaming our game

I'd do myself but my computer is kinda crap

However, I must advise you to begin quick immediate preparations to fortify the island your capital sits on, build many forts, coastal forts and anti air emplacements. The Soviet Union does not currently share a border with you but we will send you an expeditionary force and together on your highly defensible island we will shatter many a fascist army, as they try in vain to swim across to your lands!

As the original op of the axis war thread and organizer of the first major war of relese these are the rules for that game pm me with any questions

The Rules as of Now:

1: The war is to, if possible, continue through the 50's and possibly the 60's. Adjust your operations to accommodate for this.

2: Fascist countries, with the exception of Japan, can not initiate conflict until at LEAST September 1st 1939. The USA and USSR can not attack anyone until August 1st 1941, however they can be pulled into existing conflicts if a Fascist nation declares war on them beforehand.

3: Nuclear reactors are to be limited to avoid a never-ending Nuke spam fest. For now, the Limits are:
USA:3 - USSR:2 - Germany:2 - Everyone Else:1

4: In order for any Faction to surrender, all of the Major members capital's must be occupied and held for a period of time (to be decided). If a player's nation has capitulated but control colonies (like France), they may continue the fight until either their faction is defeated or their countries restored.

5: Players of Minor nations are free to create their own faction, with which they can either use to take on the traditional big 3, or forge alliances with them to help, or to simply stay neutral in strength.

6: Modding is not strictly forbidden but must be discussed with the group to avoid games becoming incompatible. It is highly likely the first game will be un-modded for the sake of an even playing field.

7: Anyone with a Twitch or Youtube account and good recording software is encouraged to record the game, but this is of course not a nessessity.

Regarding Role-play:

In this game you are encouraged to role-play your part in the conflict as much as you are comfortable with. If you have no interest in RP that won't jeopardize your chances at joining the game, but we ask you respect anyone else who is interested in the RP aspect of the game. As such, if you want to set yourself up with a 'Persona' for other players to address you by, a new thread will be created for you to share your identity.

Using methods of communication outside of the game to contact other players is allowed, but only secret alliances may be formed between Majors with Minors or vice versa. Majors may still enter secret trades with each other if they want however, and the sharing of plans is allowed also. Basically, a Major may help another Major, but they cannot outright change sides in the conflict.

During the conflict occupied territory may be exchanged between participants freely, until the Peace Conference where it will be permanently given to whomever can be the most persuasive.

If the war is truly going south for your nation or you have to quit the game for any particular reason, peace talks can prematurely begin and conditions agreed upon but ultimately these can't be enforced until the Peace Conference.

Limited War's are allowed, as in private conflicts between plays and AI without dragging in the entire alliance. However, you will have to be persuasive, as of course personal conflicts benefits only you.

Units with the Elite status are encouraged to have a backstory, however scarce or detailed. As always, not mandatory.

A special Steam group will be formed closer to the games launch to finalize spots, update Rules, and generally make it easier for players to mingle and organize. Any suggestions for rules or other ways to RP is welcome and encouraged to share, but as always, OP has the final say.

The denial of the inalienable rights of glorious socialist states to initiate glorious revolution with whoever they please is outrageous and therefore merits an immediate invasion and activation of all organs of the USSR present in the despised fascist states!

These are the honorable rules of war that approaches of course I can't expect a filthy communist pig to know what honor is ! :p jk

Everything is negotiable, but for me personally, a free-for-all in 1936 seems like it will be a very short game for any non-Soviet or USA player. Not saying afterwards a A-historical free-for-all won't happen, but I like a safety net for a first MP.

And lets not forget, this was originally a Axis only game but we expanded it to anyone because of the interest, so its likely some hangover from that sentiment :p

Yet everyone else would be swarmed by USA and Russia if it's all out in 1939

This puts the axis allies and communist on equal footing

Though I would recommend an immediate ban on... Navies being over a certain size... nuclear research and the blitzkrieg doctrine in general. :D

From what i understood, it is mainly aimed at major vs major wars (or perhaps player vs player) while wars against ai minors can be negotiated for. for example, i might convince people to allow my conquest of albania before 1939, maybe i understood wrong, but this is how i interpreted it.

Theirs restrictive policy on nukes havnt discussed navy's or the blitzkrieg

As the original op of the axis war thread and organizer of the first major war of relese these are the rules for that game pm me with any questions

The Rules as of Now:

1: The war is to, if possible, continue through the 50's and possibly the 60's. Adjust your operations to accommodate for this.

2: Fascist countries, with the exception of Japan, can not initiate conflict until at LEAST September 1st 1939. The USA and USSR can not attack anyone until August 1st 1941, however they can be pulled into existing conflicts if a Fascist nation declares war on them beforehand.

3: Nuclear reactors are to be limited to avoid a never-ending Nuke spam fest. For now, the Limits are:
USA:3 - USSR:2 - Germany:2 - Everyone Else:1

4: In order for any Faction to surrender, all of the Major members capital's must be occupied and held for a period of time (to be decided). If a player's nation has capitulated but control colonies (like France), they may continue the fight until either their faction is defeated or their countries restored.

5: Players of Minor nations are free to create their own faction, with which they can either use to take on the traditional big 3, or forge alliances with them to help, or to simply stay neutral in strength.

6: Modding is not strictly forbidden but must be discussed with the group to avoid games becoming incompatible. It is highly likely the first game will be un-modded for the sake of an even playing field.

7: Anyone with a Twitch or Youtube account and good recording software is encouraged to record the game, but this is of course not a nessessity.

Regarding Role-play:

In this game you are encouraged to role-play your part in the conflict as much as you are comfortable with. If you have no interest in RP that won't jeopardize your chances at joining the game, but we ask you respect anyone else who is interested in the RP aspect of the game. As such, if you want to set yourself up with a 'Persona' for other players to address you by, a new thread will be created for you to share your identity.

Using methods of communication outside of the game to contact other players is allowed, but only secret alliances may be formed between Majors with Minors or vice versa. Majors may still enter secret trades with each other if they want however, and the sharing of plans is allowed also. Basically, a Major may help another Major, but they cannot outright change sides in the conflict.

During the conflict occupied territory may be exchanged between participants freely, until the Peace Conference where it will be permanently given to whomever can be the most persuasive.

If the war is truly going south for your nation or you have to quit the game for any particular reason, peace talks can prematurely begin and conditions agreed upon but ultimately these can't be enforced until the Peace Conference.

Limited War's are allowed, as in private conflicts between plays and AI without dragging in the entire alliance. However, you will have to be persuasive, as of course personal conflicts benefits only you.

Units with the Elite status are encouraged to have a backstory, however scarce or detailed. As always, not mandatory.

A special Steam group will be formed closer to the games launch to finalize spots, update Rules, and generally make it easier for players to mingle and organize. Any suggestions for rules or other ways to RP is welcome and encouraged to share, but as always, OP has the final say.
