Hello guys.

First : I wanted to reg the game but i cant ( always says invalid key )- i bought it on steam.

First my system :

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

Ok here is my problem.
Always when i play Warband my computer suddenly (without warning ,sounds or bluescreen) turn off. There is just for a few seconds a black screen and then the computer turns off completely ( no reset or something else ,i have to press the power button ).

My first impression was that the temperature is to high - but everest ultimate shows a temperatur of 35.

Oh yeah before i forget it , this problem just happens when i play Mount and Blade.World of Warcraft for exampel runs withouth problems.

Excuse my english

Have you tried to reduce graphic setting in the configure window before you start the game ? Just to check it not something graphic related that cause the crash.

WoW not really a good game to compare for requirement, which were already low at it release, in present day it could run on a high end toaster.

Also are your graphic driver and directx updated to latest ?

Also is WoW the only other game you playing ? Just asking for if it is, maybe your computer not set correctly and are running on the on-board video chipset of your motherboard right now, which WoW is able to run on has opposed to most game since of it extremely low requirement.

But with the computer you have you should be able to run with everything maxed.

Ok then it must be one of the graphic effect that cause a crash, would really post about that on Taleworlds forum, if you can access it (forum server often overloaded since release, but they are getting new one)

If it was me I would do a diagnostic of the trouble to identify the source of it, but that a lenghty process to do that require to test each and every little setting one after the other.

But if you do so and come to identify the precise source for it, at least it will let you play with all other setting maxed, so game look better, until they patch that trouble.

Btw when you say low graphic you just toned down everything to minimum in directx 9 or you switched game to directx 7 ?

Below is the partern I would follow to do a full diagnostic, if you are willing to do it, but will understand if you unwilling, I am just an odd guy who happen to be able to have fun doing that kind of thing. (Studied in electronic engineering, problem diagnostic is a huge part of the job :p).

If directx 7 just max every graphic in it and see if it crash, move to directx 9 after.

If directx 9, then start from minimum graphic

[if you come from directx7 do a check with all setting at minimum, if crash there then trouble is really a major one and should be reported to Taleworlds forum right away with a directx diagnostic of your computer, but feel free to go enjoy the game on max directx 7 if you didn't crash on it full graphic test, if crashed there also, then do diagnostic procedure for directx 7]

[If doesn't crash and you came from directx 7 with a crash at it max setting, then we are almost sure the trouble is a specific setting that cause a crash]

From this point raise one graphic setting to max, then try to play the game, if doesn't crash then quit the game, and max an other graphic setting (can keep the one before up, will do a stress test at same time, which considering your computer if well set shouldn't be the trouble, but better still check), continue like that until you found the guilty one.

Once you found the guilty one, it will be a matter of checking at which setting it start to crash, so lower it setting a bit until it no longer crash or at it minimum. Once you found the setting it no longer crash at, just max every other graphic setting to see if there is still troublesome one, if crash then you have to put at minimum all the graphic you just maxed for test, and continue the previous diagnostic schedule for them. If you start to get setting that chain crash one after the other the trouble might not be graphic but stress related and might be your computer hardware or software been set incorrectly (this last thing shouldn't be hardware related since you can run a game with much higher requirement, but could be software)

P.S. Some setting are linked together, for example you cannot have auto-exposure without at least low HDR, any shadow quality will have no effect if you don't have environment shadow activated, same thing for character shadow detail which will have no effect if character shadow not activated. Since on my break, cannot really check what are all the setting available for not at home, so might be an other linked one I don't remember. Also there is two setting that cannot be change in the in game menu other then directx 7/9 switch, it is the pixel shaders and load texture on demand, so I suggest those to be the first setting to take care of for a full diagnostic.

Feel free to report result here if you do a full diagnostic.

I tryed it with direct X 9 ,but i will try to play on direct X 7 with full settings in a few minutes ( have to do something ).

I think i will test the graphic settings as long i can play without crashs ( i cant play with lowest graphic  ,sometimes i dont know if i attack a tree or a man ).

Is it possible that it crashs because of Direct X 11 ?

I believe that the shaders don't fully support DX 11 yet. Armagan (the lead developer) said they added support, but there was a lot of bugs after that, which they're still fixing.
