Compare/Contrast hoi3 and 4

Hoi3 right now is miles ahead of current hoi4.

Hoi4 looks great, but has half the features that hoi3 has. Way more control and immerstion in the old game.

I have no doubt this game will be great in 2 years time, but this will be after forcing another payed 7-8 dlc's to get all the features and fixes. Now days its the way it works. You buy 50% of the game at launch , and then the other 50% of the game over the coming years.

Fully agreed. HOI3 became great from the 3rd expansion "Thier Finest Hour". Let wait and see the enhancement of HOI4.

It worked if you said no to Vichy.

it also worked sometimes if you took vichy. yes it did crash often, and if you look at post#42 of a certain thread you will see the fix for it so it would stop crashing for those that it crashed for.

my game IS registered. it is so terrible that I REFUSE to show it... and have never shown it.

man I wish I could show you guys the hate threads of HoI3. it would sear your eyeballs.

you guys thinking the hate for HoI4 is huge, you haven't seen anything. HoI4 IS a good game, and these two games don't even compare...

And I played HOI3 from when it came out until HOI4 came out, so I have seen plenty of 'HOI3 hate thread' so ity looks like you are making the false assumption here.

Usually, I use the Army/Corps HQs with Heavy Armour Battalion , Heavy Artillery as the support force.

I did that two, but I didn't like it. And it wasn't my HQs that bothered me that much, it was the AI's, because you would get an attack delay for fighting a 25 HQ.

I won my first game as Germany when the game first came out. I was not able to do that in HOI3.

ummm what context does your reply have to my statement? I'm at a loss. I experienced the crash and I also had times that it didn't when I selected the event, same as others in the bug report thread I referred to that had the fix in post 42.

Just that the Vichy bug did not prevent you from finishing the game when it first came out.

Other fun things with HoI3.

It seems that maybe air units in HoI3 never actually consumed any fuel at all ( which would help explain the abundance of fuel )

It was also not until the second expansion that it was discovered and corrected that toughness ( same as HoI4 breakthrough ) and defense never worked at all, making half the techs impacting all land units basically do nothing.


More complex isn't always only better

LOL! And this is one of dozens of bugs with HOI3 that were never fixed even after years of development and, what's more, not noticed by players even after years of play due to the insane complexity of the game.

Others include:

1) the silliness of the air techs, particularly the bomber/fighter focuses which cancelled each other out.

2) the questions around toughness and penetration where it worked out that an important variable actually made no difference.

3) the strategic warfare ledger with its crazy, nonsensical stats
