Company Names on minor Countries

in the image below we see that the finnish companies are of generic name (i don't know if thats a placeholder or not) but either way i think that if paradox can't find the names for some countries companies they could use the "Small Arms Company" in the native language, so in finnish it would be "pienaseiden yritys" (or something else, i used google translator here), it would be less empty than "small arms company" except for native playes lol

Minor nations have generic national focus trees and generic companies at launch. Only the 7 major countres germany, united kingdom, france, italy, japan, usa and soviet union have unique companies and tech- and national focus trees.

They want to expand that number post launch tho, similar to what the EUIV team is doing with national ideas for example.

The game will support 7 languages at launch and i think its not the best idea to rely on google translator when it comes to translation, even for something like that. Some languages just translate horrible with google translator.

UK motorized equipment is just called motorized unlike Opel Blitz or Scania-Vabis.

UK motorised equipment should probably be the Bedford Lorry. These were 3 ton trucks.

I think we should give them time to add names on units, this is probably not high on their list of priorities right now, and a lot of nations probably have placeholders.

I must say I'm a little surprised that they are almost at the beta stage and they still haven't added unique infantry tech art for UK ( one of the major nations )
To my knowledge only Germany and USA have fully unique tech art, besides navy which all nations share the same icons/art

what exactly do you mean? They look different to me in World War Wednesday. The Weapon I rifle is not so distinct that doing an seperate art for it would be really worth it for such an small icon. If you mean Weapon III Weapons III show me an british assault rifle of ww2 and even that isnt an straight up copy, but an modified art of the german stg-44.

That is US tech/weapons I believe, ( italy, russia and france also share that same tech tree )
tech 1 : Mauser + Mk 2 grenade
tech 2 : M3 sub machine gun + German Tellermine ( T. Mi. 35 Stahl )
tech 3 : ?? StG 44 ?? + Bazooka

Truck : Opel Blitz
Mech : M3 Half-track

The minor nations will probably be filled out as they are with EU4's minor nations. Yes, that kind of sucks, but it shouldn't detract from gameplay too much. Just more of a flavor deficiency.

All majors (and probably partially Sweden, too), will have more unique flavors than the minor nations. In the case of Sweden, Paradox loves adding in just a couple sprinkles of special stuff for their home country. Come on, can you really blame them?

But then in Darkest Hour, not all countries were allowed to have research slots more than 3, which was rather arbitrary.

I was playing as Brazil and barely a few tech teams were available. It was crap.

Darkest Hour isnt developed by paradox, just published by them. It was made by modders on the forum and ist still worked on.

Yes, but it follows HoI2 a lot I recall. Especially in the tech section.

I think the reason that Sweden and such have company names and not other minors yet is because of ease to find information.
How hard do you guys think it is for a Swedish company to find info about Sweden instead of Brazil or Finland?
It will come for other countries, its just that its more easy for them to find information for Sweden.

Sweden have one of the largest arms industries in the world so it would probably not be to hard to find information about Swedish companies no matter what.
