Playing as USA. 1944, I invade Germany controlled Europe, and by 1945 beat them. Start moving troops to Italy's border. I save and quit. Next time I start up, France is independently ruling it's former territory, Germany has become the FRG (and I no longer have access through their territory) and 3/4 of my military, including planes, ships, and troops, are being strategically redeployed to the USA, with arrival times as long as two months. All I have left are some territory in the Balkans I won, and two Italian provinces I won. I also have troops stranded in France, b/c they can't move through Germany, Vichy, etc. Also, now Poland, Hungary, and a couple others are puppets of SU. This put a serious crimp on my plans to invade the SU. I have had to use the limited units I had to conquer Italy (not too hard), while transporting all of my other units back overseas. I am playing on the hardest AI and game settings. Is this a bug? If so, I'll post it on that thread. Still, in only a few minutes, the entire political landscape changed, and my troops were "expelled" from the European continent.
Thanks for any insight, and I apologize if this is a bug and I should've posted there, but it seems pretty deliberate as far as the Germany to FRG event, etc. (Also posted in the General HOI2 Forum)
