The Dreth race evolved from fungus growing on the bones of an unknown precursor species. Dreth are a long lived race that are part bone and part fungus. The species reproduces by mixing spores from one or more partners over the bones of a corpse that has decomposed into a skeletal state. Modern practices often use an artificial skeleton that is manufactured in medical vats, but it is preferred to use the corpses of fallen enemies for their offspring. The Dreth are independent beings but rally together to protect and further the Dreth Realms.

The Othiocordyceps Verduris were inherently a parasitic fungus which preyed on the primitive species of Verdure. The Kuma, a stone-age species, recorded tales of venturing into the lust forests, sometimes returning with the 'dark consuming taint', mark which corrupted their spirits. Early efforts by tribal shamans to cure this ‘taint’ failed, leading to the great chief Bjorn to lead a campaign to eradicate this corruption, known as the ‘Abyss’. The Othiocordyceps Verduris possessing rudimentary genetic memory, acquired knowledge and first traces of sentience as it congealed into the first ‘Inferi Sententia’, or ‘Thinking Dead’. Facing eradication, the Inferi Sententia lured the Kuma warband into the darkest reaches of the forest, and at the pinnacle of twilight, embraced them. What returned to the settlements were Kuma no more, but the ‘Abyss’, taking the name denoted to them by the Kuma. This is a symbiotic union of Othiocordyceps Verduris and Kuma, which spread itself through the tribes, and becoming the dominant species on Verdure. What if the greatest minds of our time could live on in a new generation? The genetic memories of the Abyss allowed technological evolution at an accelerated pace, no need for the basic schooling known to other species, they flourished and multiplied, looking to spread amongst the stars themselves. Abyss society is greatly influenced by its tribal origins of Kuma shamanism, and with their unique perspective on life and spirit, and to this end, they aim to answer the ultimate question.

Hooman Combine of Friendship and Labour

"Due to their agrarian nature and great understanding of the land which provides them with meagre amounts of food, the Hoomans have mastered the collective thought. Since the dawn of time, The Hoomans have had to eat very little, causing the population to grow exponentially over the course of the last millenia. The Hoomans are friendly with everyone, unless they are presented with a great opportunity to enslave everyone to serve The Hoomans as their servants, advisors and sexual partners. Now, The Hooman Combine of Friendship and Labour are searching the stars for a new place to call home and to reproduce even faster..."

The Ash'Tau were a primitive race similar in advancement to the classical age of Earth, though they did not possess a language, living on the continental world of Ash’Xi in fractured states and constant war. Until warriors of the sky rained down upon their home, these strange invaders with smooth skin of many colours had unfathomable levels of technology to the Ash’Tau, but the invaders were surprised to meet such hard resistance and natural cunning, they were quickly overwhelmed before they could bring their mighty guns to bear. In the aftermath it was noticed that many of the Ash’Tau had developed almost magical abilities when the veil was torn asunder by the strange craft, these individuals began to serve as aids to the rulers of the new nation rapidly gaining the loyalty of the remaining city-states and empires and the scientists of the new hegemony began studying what remained of the invaders’ technology. The reverse-engineering of this apparent colony ship and the strange engines took some time, but in a matter of a few years they had advanced the equivalent of centuries by the histories in the invaders’ records. The Ash'Tau were now a strong, united people with unswerving loyalty to their Alpha, and a growing hatred for outsiders…

Years later they took to the stars, gathering all of their people onto an enlarged version of the ship which first opened their eyes and made them look upwards. Saying goodbye to their home (for they knew not how to return once they set forth), they set the navigation systems to return home, a strange designation of “Earth” in the invader’s language. They descended upon the world with a fury they had never known, not even in the largest of their wars. The death toll was unimaginable, but when the dust settled, the Ash’Tau were standing alone once more, they will return home one day, and they would bring the blood of all those who would seek to harm them. Science has given them power, but their faith in the Alpha would give them the strength to use it

I think I already have one ^.^

2016_05_27_1tejnx.png

I always play the Chiaukesh in two-armed galaxies, because the flag is supposed to resemble their galaxy.

Code:
"Unified Chiaukesh Nations"
={
   name_list="MAM1"
   ship_prefix=""
   species_name="Chiaukesh"
   species_plural="Chiaukeshas"
   species_class="MAM"
   species_adjective="Chiaukesh"
   species_bio="The Chiaukeshas once were a very divided species. Some states had fusion reactors while others were still trying to develop nuclear weapons. In this far too unstable state of their global civilisation, the Annihilation War began. They underestimated the enormous force of antimatter bombs, turning one third of the surface of Chiaukon into wasteland, killing billions of people. In the aftermath, the survivors fought the militaristic governments, united all nations under one flag, and elected a Scientific Council to rule on Chiaukon. They seek to research everything and give this knowledge to everyone equally, in order to prevent further conflicts like the one on Chiaukon. Peace through Science!"
   portrait="mam3"
   name="Unified Chiaukesh Nations"

And here is my way to the Unified Chiaukesh Nations, with explanations to why I chose these traits and ethics, and how I play them, in case you are interested :)

Somewhat generic bug collective. Selectively breeding captured and risen species or purging them from the collective if they are unable to conform. Society within the collective ranks species off of their usefulness and dedication towards the collective. The first being the Vaul-Okan them selves who have not diverged and been purged. The second are generally uplifted species who have embraced the ethos of the collective in full and have taken on their genetic traits. The third are those who have not yet conformed completely to the collective and are not allowed to travel off-world of colonize elsewhere until their whole species has become second. Fourth are on a fine line between being purged for good or being brought into the folds of the collective. All newly obtained species are given the conformist trait once genetic engineering is possible and hand bred on their home worlds till they are second. The collective despite being materialist outlaw AI and use of robots on worlds as to keep the mental integrity of the colony pure. Once the collective it's self obtained two genetic points they obtain enduring and rapid breeders. All other races must obtain conformist first then communal if points are left.

Gameplay summary: Lot's of metal, lot's of energy, and extra ethics convergence and research through happiness. Wormholes + missiles for an early game combat advantage. Being Evangelizing Zealots boost aggressiveness.

Traits:
Weak: The Kuro are fully reliant on the native life they control, being completely mute and immobile without it. As their mounts and servants are not as adaptable as themselves, invading alien worlds comes with great difficulty.

Industrious:
Instead of merely exploiting their environment, sufficient Kuro can mobilize the entire biosphere in their service. Through allomone controlled organisms they harvest the resources of the planet, greatly enhancing efficiency.

Repugnant:
Their symbiotic lifestyle and need to be surrounded by swarms of controlled native life make them difficult to be around. Other sentient beings might also be wary to deal with a species seemingly so effective at "mind control"...

Thrifty: The Symphony's energy grid takes great inspiration from their controlled surrounding environment. Being in symbiosis with the local biosphere and forming a highly efficient self-correcting system that massively reduces waste.

Ethics:
Spiritualist Fanatics: The degree of control Kuro have over their environment and the life around them has not only made them belief that they are special, but also that the universe has endowed them with unique powers. A gift they must share with all other life. After all, aren't they all happier in their perfect symbiosis?

Collectivist: Only through cooperation are the greatest feats of social and technological achievement possible. It takes millions of Kuro to tame a planet's biosphere, a fact they are all well aware of.

Government:
The mightiest Kuro eventually coalesced into the Symphony, so that together they might tame the cosmos, and connect all life. The upcoming centuries will determine whether their cause will take on a more profiteering or spiritual tone...

Upon the emergence of the highly intelligent and gifted species of the Vidonians, life on Vidonia changed forever. The many disjointed and largely separated Island States of the Ocean World were soon unified under the guidance of the avians and would eventually come to be known as the Vidonian Research Pact. With their unusually high intelligence, the Vidonians longed to explore the unknown and their society has honored and valued venerable scientists above all else. Entrusting all matters of state and military in the hands of an academically distinguished elite, the Vidonian People strive to better their understanding of the galaxy and all it presents to them.

With an AI playing the empire more of my own perspective on them can't necessarily be played out. However, I view the Vidonian Research Pact as a society focused and aimed at improving biological life. As such, they view the pursuit of robotics research as negligent, instead they are determined to advance and progress species through genetic modifications and enhancements.
