For a better experience, consider Kazoo's icon pack, which changes the division graphics

This mod fleshes out the 1933 start for a Germany going down an ahistorical path (communist or democratic)

Features:-
- better tech teams, more leaders, more division and ship names
- option to reject Stalin's alliance proposal and form a Fourth International (filthy trots)
- event chain around the historic Austrian civil war (February 1934) which can draw Germany into war with Fascist Austria and her protector, Italy
- an analogue to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact that will probably end in tears for all involved!
- event chain around the conquest liberation of Stalinist Russia by Trotskyist Germany
- event chain around an ahistoric British civil war in the event France falls and the British left and intelligentsia push for peace (as they did in the second world war)
- event chain for French, Belgian and Dutch surrenders and territory changes
- event chain for invading Switzerland
- chain for intervening in the Spanish Civil war
- event chain for the invasion of America and its occupation
- chains to annex Denmark and Czechia if you don't mind a movement towards the right
- the DDR gets its very own Great Purge!
- option to appoint or elect your head of state and government from a selection of prominent leftists (mostly veterans of the 1918 revolutions)
- can intervene in Abyssinian politics
- economic development chain
- more interventionist AIs for neutral nations provides an Allied counterpart to DDR's "Spread the Revolution" decision
- the CIA will try to overthrow you, as is the destiny of all communists

Built on top of yayap's democratic Germany mod, included

How do I install this mod?

Go to your equivalent of
Steam\steamapps\common\darkest hour a hoi game\Mods\
(Where ever the game files are installed)

Now make a copy of the folder Darkest Hour Full and rename it (you can overwrite the folder instead but Steam will soon download the original files)

Now download the mod and extract it somewhere, then paste the files into the copied folder you made so that you are overwriting several hundred files

Now when you start the launcher, select the new folder you made to play

"The British left and intelligensia push for peace".
Are you fucking serious? Lord Halifax was neither leftist, nor intellgensia. Is your mod a platform for deranged right-wing views or something?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Party_(UK)#Wartime_coalition_.281940-1945.29
"A number of other senior Labour figures also took up senior positions; the trade union leader Ernest Bevin, as Minister of Labour, directed Britain's wartime economy and allocation of manpower, the veteran Labour statesman Herbert Morrison became Home Secretary, Hugh Dalton was Minister of Economic Warfare and later President of the Board of Trade, while A. V. Alexander resumed the role he had held in the previous Labour Government as First Lord of the Admiralty."
Presumably Ernest Bevin doesn't count as a left-winger in your eyes?
Usually I let historical inaccuracies slide in modding sub-forums but this is not stormfront, please do not lie about the history of the Labour Party.

Looks like I broke one of the AI files (fixed in this file, link in the OP includes it)

Could someone who has downloaded this say whether the scenario actually works? I would hate to have skipped something fundamental

Nice. Can you take an alignment with the "yayap's democratic Germany mod" also for the future release ?

Yes but if that mod takes on more areas (so it's no longer just an improvement on vanilla) I'll probably switch to having it by itself

Haha, I meant the Communists!

Labour aren't ~real~ lefties

Sounds great. What about tech teams and leaders? Usually, all the military officers disappear when you make Germany communist, which is just silly. They wouldn't all leave, would they?

Not working. I'm getting a whole lot of minister errors on my loadscreen, and then a ctd. Do I need to change something else?

Are there any German, Italian or French speakers here? What's the correct translation of "nth Division of Anticommunist Partisans"? At the moment I'm going with Bing Translator:
"1ère division de partisans anticommunistes"
"2e division de partisans anticommunistes"
"11a divisione partigiana anticomunista"
"12a divisione partigiana anticomunista"
"6. Antikommunistischen Partisanen"

Anyway, version 4 expands the British civil war and adds surrender events for France and the low countries. Also the invasions of Switzerland and America (hope you enjoy partisans!)

Good point, I've copied over another 30 generals that are activated in 1945 for GER. Plus I've moved the start dates of the U12 generals (communist Britain) since they only have 1 active in 1933...

Could you take a screenshot so I can see which ministers/file?

Never mind, fixed it. I had incorrectly copied the Darkest Hour files...

Are we talking East German leaders or some of the original ones from WWII. I'm pretty sure some of them would stay and assimilate.

Only a few new events in this version http://www.mediafire.com/?vnh6v9nqqmc5sfm

I merged the Federal Republic of Germany generals with the DDR. Their activation dates are set for 1936, which is probably when things will heat up for real in your game.

I was a bit disappointed to run out of DDR names after just 200 infantry divisions so I've added some more. In the case of the land divisions, most of the division numbers follow on from the end of the default names, so they go from the 209. Infanterie-Division to the 1208. Infanterie-Division (exceptions are armour and mountain). Eg, 721. Panzergrenadier-Division, 918. Sicherungs-Division. Considering you would need 7800 manpower to build 600 infantry divisions I'm pretty confident this will last for even a long game.

Land
Armour: 90
Mountain: 60
Infantry: 400
Motorised: 180
Mechanised: 200
Garrison: 200

Naval
Fleet and escort carriers: 30 named after major German towns and cities, via Wiki
Battleships and battlecruisers: 25 named after German rivers and tributaries
Light and heavy cruisers: 50 named after minor German towns, apparently used by the Volksmarine for minesweepers etc
Transports: 70
Submarines: 140
Destroyers: 150

Air
Interceptors and fighters: 100
Tactical bombers: 37
Close air support: 30

If it's any assistance to you, I'd probably get a kick out of coming up with some names for Capital ships that German communists might use, seeing as Rivers and Cities a standard for just light and heavy cruisers. If you want, I could probably come up with a pretty decent list.

What about, officers, can't you transfer some of the pre-3rd Reich officers? Or just get rid of the NS loyalists, like the assassination event does?

Sure that might be cool, I was going to do that myself but painfully transcribing individual words like "socialism" and "republic" using an internet translator is tedious AND probably gives inaccurate results!

For example, heavy submarines?
DDR;29;1. Schwere Unterseebootsflottille
Should it have a hyphen? Should Schwere end in an 'r' or 'n'?
e: actually looking at the naming schemes for the Japanese etc heavy subs they didn't give them special names so I'll just use 1. Unterseebootsflottille etc

700 officers is plenty I think.

Or maybe "6. Antikommunistische Partisanen-Division"? Or "6. Division Antikommunistischer Partisanen," although I'm not 100% that'd be grammatically correct.

Added some music, Spanish civil war chain, other stuff

e: 5b adds no new functionality, just updates the democratic Germany portion from 1.1 to 1.25
