Commercial pact between non-megacorps

I'm pretty clear about mechanics of a commercial pact between a megacorp and normal empire. One side gets branch offices and the other benefits from branch office buildings

But what exactly happens with a pact between normal empires or two megacorps. They can't create branch offices, so what happens other than the influence drain? I tried observing my balance before/after pact but nothing seem changed.

Hmm, I haven't tried megacorps yet but I think you still get energy credits depending on trade value straight into your account, also it boosts diplomatic relations which helps if you want to make friends.

It tells you when you offer the deal what you will get and what they will get in terms of energy credits. It does work as well, it adds them in to your monthly total.

The question for a non-MegaCorp when forming a commercial agreement is whether the monthly influence spent is worth the pure profit in energy credits and trust gain with the partner.

Is that true because thats not what the ingame message suggests?
How I understand it is that commercial pacts increase the trade value of both sides. So when your economy is running on Consumer Benefits, the increased trade value also gives you more consumer goods.

The UI for asking for a Com Pact seems to sometimes suggest that I’ll get ECs and Consumer Goods, and that the other empire gets ECs and Unity, while I’m on the EC/Unity Policy. So I have reason to assume that that’s how it works.

Wow, so many answers and most of them are nothing near correct.

Commercial Pact for non Mega-Corps is each gain 10% of the others earned trade value, without losing any of their own (so if Empire A has 20 and Empire B has 60, empire A would get 26, whilst Empire B would get 62)

Are you sure? Read it more closely. I think it is correct.

The question I answered was regarding non-megacorps, so if my answer is also true of non-megacorps, then I've answered the question, right?

Unless you've made a mistake and meant 'also true of mega-corps' - I felt it unnecessary to specify this as this is not what was asked, given that megacorps would obviously recieve the same benefit of commercial pacts, with the addition of adding branch offices.
