This has been one of the more entertaining AAR's to read with all the blatant propaganda being thrown around by every nation, not to mention the Greek bashing in every post. It's amazing how well Greece is doing considering every great power seems to hate them. :D

What caused Russia to implode in such a spectacular fashion? I don't think I've ever seen an AI Russia get ripped apart like that, let alone one under human control.

Thanks for the compliments! :)

As a german is on the thrown in greece, I(Prussia) wanted to get them the Iron the so desparately wanted. So a deal was struck and Greece got the iron... but now has enemies in UK and Russia.

I think Russia never fully recovered from Great Crimean War (1.03b was implemented after start... so i think RC's planning was shot to shit as his new econ was nothing compared to what was expected) and then got involved in a war against Persia.

Ain't that the truth. It isn't so much that the patch destoryed Russia as a playable nation. It is more along the lines that I have never played her before and right in the middle of it the rules change. Kinda through me for a loop.

Russia is a nation that has its problems but it has tremendous amount of potential.

It's kinda sad to see how far Russian has fallen. I wonder if Russia will end up the same in our game. Right now, it's 1843 game time, Russia is a giant beast. Russia annexed Tibet and good portion of northern China. Sufficient to say, western China is but a memory. Russia also has colonies in the pacific, not just claim, bullied from Sweden, according to the Swedish player's AAR.

Russia in our game so far is one giant growling bear. Once Russia's multi-stage China annex is complete, I think Russia is probably capable of taking on all player nations at the same time and win. I think Russia is already causing a lot of problems for the rest of us. Iron shortage and I think sulfur too is already occuring and it's just 1843. Blame it on the rapid industrialization of all player nations as valuable miners, lumberjacks are being sent to work in factories. I think before the session ended, I heard complaints about lumber. It doesn't bother me, since I'm USA, producing lumber but if there's lumber shortage, that probably means Russia is holding off selling lumber as well. :D

I don't want to spoil Memnon's fun of writing his own Russian AAR. If he won't, I'll post some screen shots of how big Russia empire is in our game.

no, I read every single one of your AAR.

It's just...sometimes I'm lazy..reading your diplomacy and AAR and reply here is not as convenient as pressing the reply button there :)

I don't read most of the AAR here though, due to time.

Make that two! Although I driven to tears by the brutal conquest of Nippon by the white-coats :( , I will continue to read.

A democratic Prussia, an egomanical Greece, France retreats from Imperialism, Sweden is virtual arbiter of Europe, and Russia is falling apart and will go commie earlier... Who woulda thunk it??? Keep up the good work! :D

If you wept for Japan, you should be pleased with this week's updates. We came -><- this close to going to war over Japan's independece - indeed, we did go to war, but it was stopped by a bug, and we just managed to hammer out a compromise when we reloaded. But I think the CA should have said "to hell with it" and fought to the last.

We could really use some new blood into the game... This has run into its 10th week or so and we have long exhausted the period of free time for some of our players...

Game is in late 1868, barely 30 years down...

Austria is available and is in servicable shape, and Spain (which owns portugal) and the USA (pending Haden's finaly decisions about whether Paradox or finals are more important, come now, that should be easy, we shouldn't need a new US player :D ) are available...

Frankly, we have 7 players, we would be happy with just two more (EDIT: looks like we hav eone, Maho, now), so there must be one person who wants to join a functioning Vicky MP game :)

Ohhh, one last thing... We will be needing a sub for Russia in the next few weeks, so anyone who wants to make time for a few weeks to get a taste of Vicky MP, please volunteer...

by russias tech level, i'd say it allies have already done that

But are russian allies high in tech?

Sweden and Prussia are both tech nations, as well as UK and USA. If any of those 4 nations give tech to Russia, then Russia should be alright. If not....

I traded for a massive number of techs in exchange for colonies, am on par with Prussia and have made sure Russia is on par with me...

That answer the question?

Yup.

Wow, Russia has really fallen then.
