i cant find the command limits for amphib or airborn assaults anywhere, I think i have heard they are 3, but cant seem to find a list anwhere. Are there any other unique command limits also?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
They are listed on the technology screen in the 'Overview' section. The limit for amphibious assaults increases as you research marines. It starts at 3 for amphibious assaults.
I don't think there's a limit for airborn assaults, though, just a penalty applied to every unit dropping.

For germany's naval tech, the limit is always 3. For FiB(UK, Italy, etc...) the limit changes to 4 with FiB tech. For Base strike,(USA and JAP) the limit goes to 4 with base strike, 5 with massive strike, and 6 with another tech toward the end. I forget which one.
