I usually go for the cheapest as well. But with Stellaris and the very positive experience with Paradox I felt like I need to back them up and show my respect to them in going for the Galaxy Version.

I wanted to buy the galaxy edition, but the bonuses didn't appeal to me. Welp at least I spared a few bucks.
I was gonna go standard but then I was pointed to a retailer that sold Nova for the same price as steam sells the standard edition.
Sadly, it doesn't seem like I will be getting my key until launch, so no fancy avatars nor icons for me

haha, that's my thinking... I wouldn't use the soundtrack or ebook from the Galaxy edition, but those spiders I would. I'm not a fan of spiders usually and I would normally play Humans in these sort of games, but I think I will fire up a Space Spider Empire now.

Standard here, too. I'm not interested in the additional content like audio or artbook. If the extra race is cool and will be available per download (somewhere it is said it will be?) I might get that one.

I just got the Nova edition and sacrificed a lunch. Instead of paying 10$ for the coffee and sandwich people around me get, I spend that 10$ on an upgrade to the Nova edition.
Then again, in this world, 50$ worth of coffee is still a better investment than 50$ worth of good video game.

My first thought was Galaxy, because I love Paradox. But I'm going to be giving them so much money in the near future with dlcs for EU, HOI and Stellaris that i backed off.
What i really wanted was ther soundtrack, since the music sounds incredible. But let's be realistic, I'll be hearing those songs a thousand times over very shortly.
So... 10$ or 20$ for an arachnid portrait? A friend of mine made the persuasive point that "spider imperialism is best imperialism" in the end I'll settle for hydras and brain slugs from the standard pre-order!

I normally get the medium tier with the soundtracks because they are amazing. But since it's the first time paradox is doing a space game I got tempted by the art book . And plus, that desktop wallpaper is lookin quite good.
