I know there are tons of threads about this, but i went through the first 10 pages and couldn´t find any, so i dare to ask again.
i am not sure if i got it right, so how exactly does it work ?

- is it 2/3 of an army has to be infantry or motorized, and 1/3 tanks ?

- do mechanized count as tanks or as infantry ?

- what bonus do i actually get ?

- does it differ depending on what doctrine i have ?

or any other useful hints would be nice.
thanks in advance.

TO get the combined arms bonus[5% if you attack, 15% if you defend] your army group must have a mix of Hard and Soft units. The ratio is between 33% and 66% (ie 1/3 to 2/3).

Hard units are: Tanks, Mech
Soft Units are: pretty much everything else

If you combine 1 Tank/Mech with 2 MOT, you get the bonus. You also get the bonus if you use 2 Tank/Mech with 1 MOT.

Some people have the opinion that it is not worth it. Tank/Mech lose org MUCH slower than MOT (lets face it, you wont combine hard units with INF becausde you want SPEED). So the MOT will take losses while the tanks are still fighting.

However, I use mine mainly for aiding in encirclements. The 15% defensive bonus is a good aid to help me hold the thin line to allow the encirclement to succeed.

I tend to give ARM/MECH SPA, and give MOT AC or SPA.The AC on the MOT reduces the softness a little and adds to the units ORG so they can fight longer before their Org is reduced to 0.
