I could at least enjoy the game a lot more if I didn't have to sit through loading screens of combat simulation that just shows me nothing and accelerates time (so why the hell do I need to see it?) but that doesn't seem to be possible.

I turned my intel to absolute 0 and counter intel to 0 too but unfortunately it doesn't see my half-assed spy network is the cause.

Also I heard a lot about spy networks and stuff and needed counter intelligence but... there's no tech about spying really or sabotage and there's no real evidence of it anywhere.

all the options for Intel and Counter-intel are in the diplomatic screen. Don't think they work yet, though.

I just want the stupid "Combat Simulation + Crappy music that also appears in combat actual" to go away.

And the music sucks... Oh God does it suck.

It wont go away because it is not posible to simulate auto combats precisely otherwise.
They do however need to make it faster a bit.

I ONLY knew about auto combats in SOTS when I researched observe combats and so I personally always made sure NOT TO RESEARCH IT, and in this game...

There is realistically no reason I should know that others are attacking when they're clear across the galaxy and I've never even met them.

Sots 1 had no precise combat calculations on auto fights. It was basically a dice roll. In sots 2 the computer actually plays all the combats with improved speed.

I absolutely and definitely prefer the current simulation. A loading time is better than a terribly inaccurate simulation. In SOTS 1, the AI actually has specific coding in it to adjust its weapon selections according to whether it is mostly fighting autoresolves or manual combats, since if it doesn't adjust, it loses. It is so easy to accidentally murder a massively superior AI fleet by having stormers and clicking autoresolve one time.

Well it causes the most crashes for me and if it isn't fixed it'll be really hard to enjoy this game even if it ever gets stable because... well it's as unrealistic in a space game as you can get. Also, if EVERYONE fights EVERYONE in one round it just ... it goes on FOREVER.... Ugh.

i know it crashes, that's obviously a problem. the time it takes, though, i feel is more acceptable than the wild unpredictabilities of SOTS' autoresolve. I'd rather have a slower system that produces good results.

if it's behind the scenes, you'd just be staring at the starmap, only it'd be for a bit longer than the current autoresolve 'cause it'd take more memory to do both.

i do think you shouldn't know who's fighting, admittedly. My point was more that it'd still take the time, but you're right, it'd be better if it wasn't so obvious who's at war.
