There was an AAR some time back about good and bad indians (playing the Cherokee). I seem to recall that he had built his army much stronger than he had capabilities to maintain. This in turn effected his morale and fighting ability - against rebels and other indians I might add before someone starts screaming "But of course Europeans are gonna kick butt in NA". As I've played since then - I have noticed this but not to such a large extent. Perhaps European countries do not have this as bad as some other minors. If anything, having too large an army takes money away from what could be going into tech levels and causes faster attrition with large armies I believe. Someone please correct me if I am wrong and they are in the know.
General rule of thumb: Do not take what is said in AARs as gospel truth. Poetic licence is some times used in them.
