I'm impressed on your work so far :D.

But there are some effects I really missing. It should be nice if there was combat events for air and naval battlest too, I never seen that so I guess it doesn't exists.
It should be nice if there was critical hits in battles during an active combat event, that a single unit could be inflicted a very high damage through battles for both manpower and organisation depending of the type of combat event.

There IS surprise for naval battles and it determines ship positioning. Critical hits are also in vanilla HOI2 that deal way more damage than a normal hit. They are hidden modifiers that don't show up in the same place as the combat events for land battles. It wouldn't even make sense for critical hit to be a a battle event though. Would getting that event make all your attacks critical hits? That would be stupidly rigged.

What I was talking about was that it should be fixed the battle events for all type of battles, it was the idea from the beginning but of some reason they let it be out for naval and air battles. I think that was sad and I dont think it should be to hard to implement it.

About critical hits and battle events its of course why not incresee the chance to get a critical hit during an event, that make sense to me and you can still have critical hit with lower chance in normal battles.

Having played ARMA for quite some time there´s always a chance of a lucky hit that will sink a BB while attacking with a single NAV. I don´t think this is calculated by percentages, but then I´m not much into game mechanics.

About the surprise for naval and air battles is another tale for the kids, never seen this myself. Btw surprise is NOT a battle event anyway, its an own parameter.

At the beginning of an aerial battle you can either suffer a major loss on one or more of your units or come out virtually unharmed. This is not depending on the level/type of the planes or doctrines. BTW I said surprise is "a kind of" battle events as it´s not taking place in every battle.

I don't know much about the critical hits, but I know FOR A FACT that surprise exists for naval combat in HoI2 and it affects positioning. Just read the godamn naval primer it mentions it there. I also specifically said it's not a combat event so don't put words in my mouth. It functions the same way as a combat event though at the start of the battle. It gives a direct bonus in positioning just like the other combat events give direct bonuses or maluses in firepower/defense values. The reason you never noticed surprise was that it affects positioning and you probably don't pay attention to positioning. Just because you personally can't observe it doesn't mean everyone else who has played HOI2 MP as a naval power can't.

Just because you personally can't observe it doesn't mean everyone else who has played HOI2 MP as a naval power can't.

Also, given more or less diffrences in encryption\decryption surprise combat modifier might also occur for the attacker, decryption\encryption if you have only minor advatange. It's noticable if you E.G. play 1939 scenario as UK and you're fighting Italy sooner or later as their techs on that are area way behind yours.
