How much 50% Maintenance effects unit’s morale and how fast it normalises when you make 100% Maintenance?

I lost a war fighting with 44,000 armies against 7,000 my Land Level 15 enemy’s – 20. Does technology level made a big difference or Maintenance?

AFAIK, morale increases by one 'step' per month, so i think it will take about 2-3 months for it go get to full. However, it goes up one at the end of the month, so you could say set it to 100% on March the 30th, and on April 1st, it would have gone up one.
Half maintanence gives half the morale IIRC.

No. Half maintenance gives a penalty of one-quarter of your base morale. See the faq:

It's quite possible (and smart financially) to spend almost the entire game at half maintenance. You want to raise it only for key months of battle.

So, does it mean, that if I increase maintenance just before battle, let’s say 10 August, and battle starts 12 August, will I get full benefit of maintenance or I have to wait till the end of month? So is it immediate effect or it is checked once a month for battle purposes?

Morale drops immediately if you lower maintenance but only rises at the end of the month if you raise maintenance.

Probably even more then tech or maitenance, the terrain did. Did you atack over a river? Into a mountain? Or maybe the battle was in a plains and the enemy had much more cavarly?

No, I attacked in forests with infantry against infantry.

IIRC atacking into a forest also nets your a considerable penalty.

The penalty for 50% maintenance is not exactly 25% of morale, but approximately. It could be closer to a 20% of morale penalty.

Morale does not decrease immediately upon lowering maintenance; morale does not change until the next month whether up or down, and does not change for armies in battle.

At the end of a month, actual morale may change (up or down) by a maximum of 30% of the maximum morale. That is not given in the morale FAQ; but I put it in my naval FAQ under naval morale.

I'm pretty sure morale can change during a month if you win a battle. Thus it should be possible with a stack of cavalry, in a single month, to (a) go to 100% mainentance, (b) move to attack a small enemy army (in plains), thus getting raised morale. Then you move on somewhere else to fight with full morale, lowering the slider before month end and never paying anything extra.

Of course setting up two plain in a row with a small enemy army in one is not that likely. But it does happen from time to time.
