I've taken your advice, major, and am putting together my own 'mobile' leaders csv that I can cart around to different mods. But a csv without the appropriate pics is a fairly lame and woe-begotten creature. I'm wondering if you can help me out with colour pics for a couple of Maxes - Schwandner and von Viebahn. I can provide b&w source pics if you need them. Hope I'm not imposing.

no, you're not. v8 is up

EDIT: (from my memory)

2 french,

some poles

some more aussies

USA? (dont know :) )

a couple of GERs

enjoy!

@ Epaminondas: just post your sources with eg imageshack (if its not from unithistories.com)

EDIT2: real pic of GER minister Gürtner added, alternative for Ringel added

EDIT3: just in case you spot some mistakes about uniform colour etc let me know please

EDIT4: at least Viebahn (from unithistories.com):

just in case you're really doing that an advice: give every pic / group of pics a unique TAG so you can get them all.

eg instead of L!23/M123

call them eg Müller_Michael_epi_ger or sth similar, so with if you type in the TAG eg "epi_ger" you see them all on first sight. that really helps and you wont get confused with those thousands of persons and nothing is overwritten (but i admit its a lot of work).

thats btw how my CSV looks like:

Blaskowitz;20;GER;1930;1930;1939;1990;1;9;4;3;0;5;0;Blaskowitz_Johannes_colour_ger;1930;1960;x
Blumentritt;21;GER;1942;1943;1944;1990;2;6;1;2;0;3;0;Blumentritt_Günther_colour_ger;1942;1960;x
Bock;22;GER;1930;1938;1940;1990;2;5;0;2;0;5;0;Bock_Max_colour_ger;1930;1943;x
Boeck-Behrens;23;GER;1942;1943;1990;1990;2;6;0;2;0;5;0;Boeckh-Behrens_Hans_ger;1942;1960;x
Boege;24;GER;1942;1943;1944;1990;2;6;0;2;0;5;0;Boege_Ehrenfried-Oskar_ger;1942;1960;x
Böhlke;25;GER;1944;1945;1990;1990;3;5;0;2;0;5;0;Böhlke_Hellmuth_ger;1944;1956;x
Boehm-Tettelbach;26;GER;1930;1938;1940;1990;2;5;512;1;0;5;0;Boehm-Tettelbach_Alfred_colour_ger;1930;1943;x
Brandenberger;27;GER;1940;1942;1943;1990;2;7;128;3;0;5;0;Brandenberger1_colour_ger;1940;1955;x
Breith;28;GER;1941;1942;1943;1990;3;6;128;2;0;5;0;Breith_Hermann_colour_ger;1941;1960;x
Bräuer;29;GER;1940;1941;1944;1990;2;8;256;3;0;5;0;Bräuer_Bruno2_colour_ger;1940;1947;x
Buck;30;GER;1940;1990;1990;1990;3;6;4;1;0;5;0;Buck_Albert_ger;1940;1942;x

so with the TAG "_ger" i get all the germans and with the TAG "colour_ger" only those in colour

Many thanks, major. In fact my source was unithistories.com, but I've uploaded Schwandner to imageshack (http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/1296/schwandner1.jpg) just the same. Can't have you doing all the work for me - 99% doesn't count as all, does it?

As to my csv ambitions, I fear I might have oversold them a little. Right now I'm concentrating on putting an exhaustive German leader csv together, and if I ever get that done I can confidently predict that any remaining aspirations will be left to whither. I don't know how people like you and Hagar can set yourself such immense tasks and then follow through.

That simplifies the tagging issue for me, so what I've been doing is just using a leader number with a suffix identifying the individual where there are duplicate names (e.g. ss for 'SS', l for Luftwaffe, e for elder, and the like). I figured that would save me a lot of keystrokes inputting. I do see the merit in your system, it's certainly a more comprehensive, and in a way 'cleaner', approach; but it would mean relabelling all the pics I've tagged 'til now. Eeeks!

Right now I'm adapting it to accommodate the CORE2 SS events, so maybe I'll take that opportunity to go down your road.

EDIT: i'm obviousy far from ready with GER but i'll need playtesters otherwise its too much / will last too long

Thanks for your offer, major, I'll take you up on it. These next two are in the mode of 'solid' performers.

I like to include Walter Scroth because he was involved in the expansion associated with rearmament and because he was promoted to GdI in 1938 so giving a potential General around the time war starts to look imminent. He has a creditable but not outstanding record so his stats shouldn't unbalance things.

I also like to give a guernsey to Hans-Heinrich Sixt von Armin as a later arriving 'professional' with uncertain potential. I have to admit, though, that I'm also drawn to his backgound as one of Germany's Jewish generals and the son of the illustrious Friedrich.

I've upped pics from "unit histories" here: http://img684.imageshack.us/i/schroth3.jpg/ and here http://img443.imageshack.us/i/sixtvonarmin3.jpg/.

Thanks again.

think this time its me who should thank you. i had the Schroth image in my collection named as Karl Graf (and Hagar colourized it recently iirc?).
Good find mate and an accidental correction!

Correct - and it indeed seems to be Scroth, based on unithistories.com...

Schroth and Sixt von Arnim (who is a bit messed up, i'll give him another go in the next days maybe)

EDIT: well next time i'll make some ingame screens, that one looks simply pixely as hell :D

+ Credits to Gwyneth Paltrow, who contributed the Hair colour for Waffen SS Brif Vahl :D
