Could use some help, HoI IV keeps creating colony states (Moesia, Istanbul, Serbia, etc). They dont exist in the countries list, and when selected, all the information is "grayed out". They are almost "black holes" that can't be entered nor interacted. How are these things created and can I adjust or eliminate their creation?

Probably a conversion error for save files. Did this happen on a file pre-BftB? When they add new states this happens, I remember volovoidship silesia being an issue for me when WtT was released.

Gee thanks for the quick response, I didn't expect a reply until tomorrow. The colony states are in Yugoslavia (Herzegovina, Serbia, and Kosovo). Greece (Eprius), Bulgaria (Moesia), and Turkey (Istanbul, Amasiya, Van). If I try to start a new game from scratch they appear in the new version; so I suspect its not something that is being created by game play. I can click the geographic location and the information box appears as it does for any province; however it is "grayed out" and all the boxes relating to fort, posts, infrastructure are empty. If I run the cursor over the box it gives a message to click for diplomacy; however when I do nothing happens. Just noticed this on the 1.10.3 version. Quite frustrating.

Happy to help. Yeah the Balkans, specifically Yugoslavia, as well as Turkey had major changes to states after BftB so that checks out. If you wanna continue with that save without the states being a mess you'll have to revert your game state. Go to steam - (rightclick) hoi4 - properties - betas then change back to before bftb. Otherwise yeah, you could just start a new game.

Thanks Gavin I'll try this in the morning.
