its not completely random is it? Are there like 3 things that can happen for each province, depending on the location?

e.g: rice, grain, or sugar?

(do we even have rice?)

There are different events for different regions. So you are more likely to get furs in the far north of America, sugar in Brazil, slaves in Africa.

In what colonizing I've done so far, events have been pretty proper - fish in Bermuda, Cape Verde, etc, and Cotton, Sugar and Coffee over the five Carribean islands I colonized.

I don't think it does--Iceland, which is a Norwegian colony at the beginning of the game, tends to die out because Norway can't afford the upkeep. When it's fully depopulated, the provinces still say they will produce fish. Of course, this might be a special case.

So that's why Norway lost it. I was wondering why it suddenly wasn't Norwegian anymore. I guess they never made it over 300 or got that event, since neither of the Icelandic provinces produce anything but a question mark at the moment.

I don't suppose anyone knows what the mtth is?

Actually, that MIGHT well be a bug...

Goods events are region-based.. If Iceland wasn't assigned to one of the goods event regions (or rather, the region Iceland is in is not in any goods events) it will never get an event..

It's between 5 and 12 months, so it shouldn't take that long.
