Is it possible to add a sort to the planets we can colonize from? sort for best match and distance from target colony?

Well the expansion planner is a starting point, it can't sort by distance yet. But the Habitability and size is in there as well as what you get from it.
I can see this idea as an extension to the planner.

The Expansion planner is what I had in mind, adding a sort for distance and matching habitability.
You can only sort by one variable. It helps to change habitability set to 60% as 40% is too low.
