Colonization, AI, 1.02

I"m playing as France, and have explored a great deal of the map. They year is 1565 and as far as I can tell, I am the only country that has any colonies. The AI has sent no colonists to North America, South America, or Africa. I haven't made it to the far easty yet. But this strikes me as a serious problem. Has it happened to anyone else?

I'm using the 1.02 patch, I started the game after downloading it. (I abandonned my prior game as France to begin again with the patch installed, that game had several colonies from a variety of countries)

Yep, that is a well known problem with the 1.02 patch. The wrong patch was sent out. It fixes a bunch of stuff but breaks AI colonization. The good patch is supposed to be out in a few days.
