I loose 3 pop in bordering province and 3 pop in capital. -6 population total. Which is why the capital of the Bosporean Kingdom in 620 AVC is still 8.0

In real life, only Rome, Carthage and Selucids, colonized. And they were able to regenerate their losses fairly quickly. Now, every Tom, Dick and Jane are allowed to colonize.flimo said:thats weird im still loosing only 2, did you mouse over and check exactly how much you lose?
only time i lose more than 2(4) is when my capital is below 10 pop then all 4 will be taken from the colonizing province
would it be posible to mod the game so that 2 was taken from the colonizing province, and the other 2 from the most populous province?
its really starting to bug me that there is no way for the capital to grow when u play a colonizing country
in RL i dont recall colonizing countries to have small hamlet type capitals
flimo said:in this game even romes growth is seriously stunted and its population will decline once the colonization really start to roll
lets say rome has a pop of 60 with 10% pop growth that would only be 3 provinces they can colonice without pop decline each decade, just seems wrong to me, i am 100000% sure colonization has never ever in history been a capital only thing
and throughout history many smaller nations(i live in one) has successfully colonized, anyway i see this game as a chance to see if I maybe by acting differently, than what some ruler did in history, can change history
if i wanted the game to play out as history did, there wouldnt really be any point in playing at all![]()
when all that is said, i would really like colonization to cost cash or something, so that it would have to be a decision do i want a new harbor or a new province
I suggested a cost of cash, but I was called a racist for it. I suggested a population pre-requisite, that didn't go over well, either. So for now Rome and Carthage get to be "SHIT". Because somepeople don't like Rome or Carthage and their achievements in history.flimo said:in this game even romes growth is seriously stunted and its population will decline once the colonization really start to roll
