Is it possible to colonist the british isles, as I havn't tried to colonist islands yet and i think it is the only island in the game that does not begin colonised.

Seems like adding it to the map, at least in non-mod versions is pointless.

Not sure which provinces and which nation, but there is a connection. Colonists can then travel across.
Try the Rome Enhanced mod if you wish to play british nations, I can confidently say it is an excellent mod.
You would be correct, but the drop down is not the rate of civilization. It is wrong and civilization is much slower. I posted it in the bug forum, check it out. Its another annoying bug. But I'm almost at the point where I can colonize the next province, so hopefully it won't take too long. And I have 4 provinces sending goods, including a 100% civ Rome.Edvardivs said:You can do the math to see how long it will take.
Hover the cursor over the civ rating. You should get a pop up that shows what items are influencing the rating.
To get the number of years until you reach 50%: (50-current rating)/(civ rating gain/month)/12.
e.g. current rating is 48.5 and the province is getting .02 from neighbors and .03 from trade. You need 1.5 to reach 50 and you are increasing by .05 per month. 1.5/.05 = 30 months or 2.5 years.
You can do something similar with population. Hover over the percentage to see if you have any modifiers. Grain is the most important, making population grow at 4% instead of 1%. So if you have 9.2 (hover over one of the population numbers) now, next Jan 1st you'll have 9.2 times 1.04 rounded down. Population updates only once a year.

What you say is true, it does decrease as time goes by. But if you have 0.02+0.03+0.05 = 0.1, it won't give you 0.1 and it won't go up each month by that much. Its a broken feature.Edvardivs said:Hmmmm...it seemed to work when I was watching it. Colonized a year or two after the date I predicted.
I'll go look at it again.
(time passes)
I just realized what you said. The neighbor gain and trade gains aren't constants. If I start with .02 and .03, those values will decrease as the difference between the provinces decreases.
In the example I gave, I was already close to 50%, so the variance was small, but probably accounts for the extra year or two beyond my predicted date.

Sorry, you are just plain wrong. I had a total of 0.19 from 3 TRs and neighbour bonus. It still wouldn't go up by 0.1, so that just blows your theory out of the water.Surt said:Each of the 0.02, 0.03 or 0.05 are rounded and could be 0.0151, 0.00251 and 0.0451 giving around 0.08, giving a span of 0.08 to 0.12 added to a displayed number that is also rounded so you could observe it giving 0.07 to 0.13.
Or you can do it faster and easier.Edvardivs said:Okay, here's the plan to get into Britannia.
Finish the Pyrhhic war ASAP. Don't worry about getting any territory.
Immediately backstab Massilia. End tribute, end alliance, declare war. Conquer both territories and take Emporion as tribute.
Build fleets and armies to gather in Emporion.
From Emporion, attack Lusitania. Conquer both territories and take Lusitania as tribute.
Use Lusitania as a forward base to attack and conquer Atrebates.
Get grain into Atrebates from a high civilization province and wait for population and civilization to rise.
Extremely ahistorical, but I think it's the quickest way to get there.
P.S. Watch your triremes carefully. They will be spending a lot of time off unfriendly shores.
