Colonial War Vs War

When I was leading the Chinese army in a very successful invasion in Siam in 1865, Russia declared colonial war on me! After a bitter struggle, I managed to defeat most of the Russian army and was going quite smooth with my large counterattack. However, during this time, I have civilized. After conquering nearly all Russia, I realized I can't annex it nor even take their own land since this has become a colonial war between civilized countries! What shall I do now? If I negotiate I can only get their puny colonies, which is virtually nothing compare to their vast realm that I have conquered. I can't "neville" myself a well-deserved victory. Now I have to fight their hordes of partisans that pops up every other second...please help!!

Please also let me know if there's a cheat that I may use to achieve victory. I have never heard of a nation conquered another but can annex it because it's a "colonial war"!

hold on to what you seized, and fight off the Russian counterattacks. Eventually they will tire of war and offer you a generous peace.

This is the case with almost all human vs AI wars... the AI will eventually tire of war and you get a peace much more generous than the 100s of peaces you proposed earlier. It may take ~1-2 years though.

Besides you should be able to demand at least the Russian colonial provinces in Siberia. The provinces between lake Baikal and the Pacific are usually colonies and remain that way until late in the game.

but the thing is it's a colonial war, so I can't demand anything other Russia's colonies, and Russia is unable to offer me anything other than its colonies, which is only around 5-6 provinces. Now I'm in control of entire Russia, but I can't even demand any of its territory......is there anything that I can do?

You can edit your savegame so that the war becomes a normal war.
Open the save and search (by pressing ctrl+f) for "colonial", make sure that you have your war by checking the participants and than change colonial = yes
into colonial = no.
