Seriously, my colonial nation may be able to successfully invade the neighboring colonial nation (belonging to country XYZ, let's say). But once XYZ and all its other colonial nations join the war, I am seriously outmatched. Especially since the AI is much better tactically than I am. (But that's another rant/whine/topic!)
Back in the day, if you didn't like the changes made in a patch, you could choose not to install the patch. Now AFAIK each patch is forced on you.
