I thought they picked their mother nation's original ideas in the file, did that change? I play as Castille and I just created a Brazil CN who was Trade+Plutocracy for now, which is kinda awkward. Can you clarify this issue? Thanks for answers
At least now they begin with ideas instead of having to complete 5 when they are created
But it should take after the motherland or at least make sure that they take Exploration or Expansion first
All colonial nations have the same set of historic ideas, and they'll always pick from that list.
While expansion is on that list, there is currently a bug where a newly spawned CN will never have expansion taken as an idea. So an early CN will quickly take expansion, while one started later on in the game won't take it until their 5-6 idea. A CN that has no coast will never take expansion, same with a CN created after the 8th idea unlocks.
Ah.. So that's the issue. So what should I do? It'd be boring to play as Castille and have a CN that doesn't expand on its own at all I guess I gotta change ideas from the save file, it's not ironman anyway. I can do a bit of tweak there to make sure that they follow the right path though then the other countries' CNs will be kinda weaker unless I tweak them too.
