The province culture trigger is bugged and does not work. As far as gaining bailiffs and colonists in your action B, I totally disagree. The English had already asked the Acadians to swear loyalty, if they had not gone ahead with the Deportation, the unrest wouldn't have simply vanished. They actually brought in many settlers once the Acadians were gone, I don't see it happening while they are still there.

The Acadians swore loyalty but failed to fight for the English when they were asked to. For that, they could not be trusted and had to go. I'm not too sure how unrestful they would have been had they stayed. My impression was that they were uncomfortable, but had not really reached that critical mass for revolt...

I think a small revolt risk would be fine. While the general Acadian population where restless, they where generally not inclined to taking up arms but that does not mean though that there wheren't many rabble rousers who called for the English to be thrown out of Acadia and a few who took up arms and fled into the forest to continue to fight against the English.

Right, however, you should take a bit of time to consider how rebels are treated in the game, what they're capable of doing, and what kinds of effects might result if a revolt did occur. IMO, the Acadian resistance doesn't merit the possibilty for a revolt. However, if we're implementing a culture plan here, then I'd be all for an Acadian culture :) (I can't really see anyone arguing against one other than for reasons of conservation, which can be put to rest considering we have 20+ to use.

You're right but I think a 1% resistance... enough to convince an English player to put a small garrison in Acadia but be good enough. We can't just let them go scot free with a province without the chance of dissentv which did exist, no matter how minisicule. Besides, most of the resistance wouldn't come from the Acadians but from the fierce and efficient Abenaki who had been swon enemies of England and allies of the French for over a century. There's no real point in an Acadian culture, the only culture plan that's needed is a change from French to English cultures. AGCEEEP shouldn't go willy nilly with cultures just because you can ;)

True, the French culture will be just as effective as Acadian AFA ENG is concerned. I've always liked the old controversial idea of implementing colonial cultures for NA.

At any rate, why would the Abenaki merit revoltrisk? Were they really that numerous that they would pose a possible EU2-caliber revolt?

If we expect Acadia to be French cultured when ENG comes to own it, what more than a culture penalty does the province merit?

If you don't know about the ferocity of the Abenaki or how much they scared the crap out of the soldiers of New England then I suggest you read up on Baron Jean-Vincent d'Abbadie de Saint-Castin here: http://www.biographi.ca/EN/ShowBio.asp?BioId=34715&query=

As for the culture, that's the entire point of the expulsion events, The French Acadians are expelled out of Acadia and end up in tons of different places all over Europe and North America and the inhabitants are replaced by 'English' (actually mostly Germans, Huguenot French and some English, the Scots ironically would not come to Nova Scotia until the the highland and lowland clearances in the 19th century)
