I understand that overseas income comes in the form of Tariffs which is basically production correct? So does building production buildings in colonies boost tariffs? Does Production Tech boost tariffs as well? I am also thinking that remaining Catholic is the best religion for colonizing, with the colonist/colonist chance bonuses as well as the slight missionary bonus to convert the native nations in the New World.
I believe I am a moderatly skilled EU3 player, but any advice is welcome. I plan on starting a game as England and trying to neuter Portugal's and Castille's ability to colonize will be a top priority early on. I am also considering the 'Occupy Paris', culture shift and 'Form France' move.
