According to the Paradox website the collectors edition will contain, among other things.

Exclusive download content, including special forum bonus content

Any ideas on what that will be? Hopefully more than access to EUIII Avatars.

You get that ability by registering to the forums Altough I believe it is not advisible in general, at least outside the AAR section

If the search engine isn't working then I don't see how the servers can handle image uploads.

Some insider information on the extra forum content

Since the Collectors Edition is something I am particluarly excited about, I've been doing some digging and this is what I can reveal so far:

First, Johan is in charge of the extra forum content and you know how committed he is to this forum so that in itself should be a huge selling point

Second: We recognize that most people getting the Collectors Edition will be either fans of the series, supporters of Paradox games or strategy buffs in general. So...the idea is to give back to this group just that bit extra.

Collector Edition owners will receive exclusive access to additional in-game content (that's right!), extra interaction with the developers in the Collectors Edition section (as a complement to this general forum), first dibs on beta testing any new updates, have direct influence over upcoming features etc etc....

I'd suggest keeping an extra eye out for when pre-orders open as we will have a limited stock of these ones

It will appear in the "Playable Countries" selection list, but anyone that clicks on it gets the COLLECTORS EDITION[tm] BONUS MP3 TRACK of Johan singing, "Never gonna get it" in Swedish.

I'm buying the Collectors Edition just for that.

I'll be pre-ordering the CE regardless, but I can't say I like the idea of having two versions of the game, ie, the standard, and a CE with extra stuff in. Surely this would suggest two patching systems and two kinds of MP server, ad just a general confusion for all concerned. I don't see why people should have to buy the CE to get stuff in-game that they otherwise wouldn't in the standard version.

Forum content and other stuff, fine, but in the game.. hmm... - I dislike the idea of essentially having to pay an extra 50% to get the complete game... :wacko:

I agree completely and I really hope that players with both versions will be able to participate in the same multiplayer game. It would be crazy if that didn't work.

Both versions are able for pre order in Sweden by the way.

It would be nothing like that I'm sure. I've seen it done before in games - usually you get a small extra shiny feature that's absolutely no real use in actually playing the game. The idea that its a different version or anything like that... well that's the whole point of having a CE (its different, see) but I wouldn't imagine we'd be talking different patches or the like.
