Collector's edition vs Gamersgate copy

Hi guys

Since the announcement of the collectors edition i've been trying to decide which version to buy.

The point is, I don't really care for the extra stuff included in the collectors edition. Sure the sub forum is nice for the first month or two, especially cause i don't like being kept out of an elite club
But the again I don't want the bust, I don't even want to have to throw it out.

Another argument for the Gamersgate version, is that i suspect it will net Paradox more money than the collectors edition. And i do want them to make money, so they can make Vicky 2

What do you guys think?

QFT, I even asked if it's possible to order CE without a bust but no one answered so I'll stick with GG version.

It's true...throwing stuff out is HARD. I usually just let things drop from my hands to the ground. But even this brings tears of frustration and shame to my eyes.

I was under the impression that Gamersgate and paradox are more or less the same thing.

If this is the case then a Gamersgate copy would cost them nothing but a little bandwith. But the CE would include shipping and production fees.

But maybe i should look at it another way, They have properly allready ordered all the CE copies, so they are just sitting there in the warehouse with no owners.
So if I don't buy it, it will net paradox a loss because of the investment in a boxed version isn't returned.

arg it's hard to decide.
Do anyone else have any argument for or against?

First of all I think in case of GG copy they get money for virtually no additional cost like shipping and packaging, so except the "goods lying in a warehouse" case it's good for Paradox to buy from GG.

Then, I have posted my reasons for not getting the bust in other thread, it's not that I couldn't throw it to the garbage bin but I'm afraid to attract the thieves in the Post by bigger package (my EU3 CE was stolen and I had to wait another month to get a replacement).

Finally, I was really disappointed by the CE forum since after initial fuzz the developer presence was minimal. Sure, we got access to some news first and could test a patch a few times before the public but I was hoping for a regular access to developers not just getting news first (which were then passed to the public after a few days).

So that's why I think I'll stick to GG version (and I guess Paradox will still be happy).

Didn't you read about Hitler winning? That guy is NOT pleasant...anyway, I could care less really, I'm just supremely bored at work and trying not to fire missiles at Sweden while waiting for a new AAR. Arg.

Well, I am getting the CE for the simple reason, I like the perks and I love giving Paradox profits. They make fine products; so, support them any which way how.

Agreed, I own EU3CE and I was very pleased with the sneak peaks and the Q&A and polls and the people who bought the CE with me.
