Ok, I'm playing a heavily modded HOI2 DD ARMA. Among the mods is the Cold war tech.
So the realy interesting new thing is the Nuclear ICBM unit researchable in the Secret weapons that can be manufactured as any other division (but it's very expensive)
So what im wondering are the effects the same as droping a regular A or H- bomb,
I mean dissident, complete wipeout of everything and other stuff from vanilla?

Nope, it only causes temporary damage, not to mention its ridiculously expensive to build and nowhere near as cost-efficient as it's predecessor, which is non-nuclear.

Hey- I've got a slight problem with my USA game (Cold War scenario). everything works great (fantastic mod btw) up til June 24 1950 (Korean War event), when the game CTD shortly after presenting me with 3 options (war, police action, none of our business):(
any help would be much appreciated- thanks

edit: never mind- loaded up as australia to play through 23:00 to 0:00 and everything worked fine

Two problems...
1) Thearetical breakthrough happens half a year, year (if ever) after i research the needed techs.
2) There are things i can't even research, i research the ICBM and then Nuclear ICBM should be researchable and it is grey but the grey colour of already researched techs and i can't select it for research!:wacko:

1) That's about normal for Theoretical Breakthroughs. It sucks, I know, but that's the way it works - even in vanilla.

2) You need to research H-Bomb Mass Production in order to research Nuclear ICBM.

Any idea where Omnom went? looks like he hasn't been on since the start of September.

I hope he really meant it, and that I recall correctly, but I think he stated that he will postpone further development of the mod until Arsenal of Democracy is released. And just as a wild speculation with no grounds; he may actually be taking part in that project!

I do however dread that it may be private issues or even loss of interest...

Is this mod compatible with both DAIM and SMEP? I'm using both of them right now, I'd love to have a better tech tree to go along with it.

should be... you have to change a few minor things with DAIM like moving over the DAIM events to the 1936 user mod instead of the 1936 grand campaign as well as changing some events that have the wrong country ID's not sure if theres anything else though! Makes for an interesting game! My AAR runs DAIM/SMEP/Cold war if you wanna check it out!

Could you tell me specifically what I would have to move/change? I think it would be interesting to have a fresh new tech tree.

Smep/cw

I am trying to combine smep with coldwar, but I get error codes at start up saying various parts of revolt.txt are missing. I did the recommended changes, and copied it over 2 or 3 times, but no luck.

I'm just playing with the similar composition. I use SMEP 5.0 Final (not 6.0 Beta) because it seems to work better. Install order is:
1. Arma 1.3
2. Gold War Extension V0.28
3. SMEP 5.0 Final.

When installing SMEP do it according the instructions in "Optional SMEP Installation.doc", which you will find in the game folder after installation of GWE. Somewhere here is also an "Iceland fix", which should be installed after GWE. Without it you can get CTD when Iceland events fire.

Where can SMEP 5.0 final edition be downloaded?

I couldn't find it here either. I still have it on my HD and if you need it I can mail it to your PM. It's only 509 KB. The graphics file for this version is 10,6 MB and that I won't mail :eek: But if used together with CWE you only need a couple of those graphic files and those I can send.
