Keioel,
Probably you just got (un)lucky. There's a small chance in the vanilla of "the Poles fold" meaning no war, or maybe the British "guarantee" of Poland doesn't happen.

Stahlwolf,
Horten H.XLVIIIc (redesigned to meet specs, hence the c) and so on. The H. style is on Wikipedia so will use it. Won't do Arabic numbers for the Hortens because I want to make it clear these are not official RLM numbers. Here are my conceptions of the Lippisch DM-4 and Horten H.XLVIIIc.
lippischhorten.png

I'm playing the Abyss scenario, and The Cossacks Head of State and Head of Government are missing. What's going on?
I did not change the file for the Cossacks and it looks like you've uncovered a vanilla bug. The ministers file for the Cossacks is numbered in a weird fashion and I suggest a little trial and error changing the minister numbers until they show. This kind of thing happens when minister numbers are duplicated.
EDIT: Found a solution--renumber

March 13, 1940 Enemy Commandos execute Military Leader Juan Hernando Serabia....is this a random event or an event tied up in the Civil War because I have NEVER seen this before...however, I have a hard time believing that German commandos would sneak into the French Belgian Border to kill one of my leaders..unless it's a random event and then...ouch ;)

Keioel,
Germany's AI spyprefs target Republican Spain, so they probably assassinated one of your ministers who happens to double as a military leader.

Mexbuild,
Your work was not for nothing. I'm going to use one of your models, the Blohm and Voss 188, and some others you mentioned, but in different places than the ones you had in mind. Also planning to add 14_9 Orbital Bomber partly because of your work.

To all: would like equal treatment for some of the other majors, USA, UK, USSR, France, etc for model pictures, so if you have some please submit them.

Ok, then I can stay cool.

A suggestion for the infantery model names, why not change the descriptions to:

Post War Inf.
1936. Inf
1939. Inf
1941. Inf
1944. Inf
1945. Inf
1947. Inf
1952. Inf
1956. Inf
etc?

Same with the motorized and mechanized divisions... i think its better than Basic, Improved, Elite...

If you need I can seed you pictures for the late infantry divisions of germany. But this would not be hypothetical. I would use pics of the Bundeswehr.

The only reason for not doing #1 is the work involved in the change. "Great War" however should stay "Great War". It was what WW1 was known by before WW2 happened. To make the change you'd have to do a massive edit of the dooomsdaytext.csv and tech_names.csv files. And don't forget to change BOTH the TECH_APP_XXXX_NAME and the SHORT_TECH_APP_XXXX_NAME entries for all languages. If you're willing to do the work, and your effort works properly I'll include it. Keep the existing historical year designations please.

As for the Bundeswehr, sure, go ahead. And I'd like to see some pics of the air cavalry. I'd say that from about 1960 onwards, what the Reich would produce would for the most part closely resemble what the Bundesrepublik produced except for manufacturers' names and insignia.
Also what effect would Germany assassinating George C. Marshall have on your intention to model the Marshall Plan? Cause they just knocked him off
Well I'd suggest just handling that issue yourself. For one thing if Germany wins the war there won't be a Marshall Plan. I think perhaps you should however sleep the cease fire (Jan 10 1946) in the Chinese Civil War. Without George C to mess things up the Nationalists probably would have won that war. Probably the historical Marshall Plan would have occurred with a different personality. The other possibility of your rep Spain leader dying is that his historical death year came about, after which he randomly dies. But then again maybe there's some event in the Republican Spain files that has escaped my notice.

It has been suggested in an AH forum I'm perusing that the Volksarmee could fit reasonably well- in regards to infantry uniforms- and symbols will probably be a problem (then again, the same problem would be for the Bundeswehr). That said, fitting pictures of the Bundeswehr might be easier to find.

Actually I had another leader assassinated after I "cheated" and modded the Iberian file to release from SPR and they knocked off Franco...it's in the Random Events file and triggers based on the level of intelligence so I'm gonna have to research the newer intel to keep them from killing commanders :) kind of a nifty and frustrating event all at once.

BTW I had to manually trigger the follow up events after the first.

I've noticed just two small issues related to the optional dismemberment of the US in 1936.
The first one is that province number 1408 (Attu Island) isn't in the remove or readd core lists in the ai_revolters file in the events_vl file. This is just a very small issue as it merely takes away one core province which would otherwise be Alaskan.
The second issue is in the same file. Event 15399 (the second last event of the file). There is states "country = EGY" when it should say "country = USA". This event deals with the moving of the US capital in case of early dismemberment.
Thats all. Just thought I should bring it to your attention for the next release.

If this is what you are looking for, I am happy to take care of the missing graphics for the UK models: I'll go by models.txt in version 0.28, unless there is a more up to date versino I should use.

Nearly forgot to ask: shall I do aircraft only, or do you want me to try to cover any missing ship/land unit graphics too?

@Stahlwolf
The Junkers is probably better for 15_7 than my earlier choice of Messerschmitt 1112. It would probably be about the equal of a Yak-28, so 15_7 not 15_8. EDIT--did some further research and found out that their work eventually led to the Alekseyev 150 bomber prototype (Junkers EF 150). The prototype crashed unfortunately and the design team headed by Brunholff Baade was then repatriated to East Germany. So might use an Alekseyev 150 picture.

Sure, do whatever you want but aircraft is a priority. Thanks for the picture you have.
Note: have made two changes in the tech tree
1) adding 14_9 orbital bomber. However only the USA, USSR and Germany ever designed anything for this, and already made pictures plus a NASA spacecraft for the generic model.
2) adding another level of air transport. (turbojet or improved turboprop--with improved speed and range). Also they have more effects so might be more worthwhile to research. In some cases that changed the model numbers for the planes (some of the Soviet planes got bumped up a level). I don't yet have a model 6 air transport for the UK and was thinking of just a cargo version of the A-300 Airbus. (Many countries used converted commercial cargo aircraft as military transports).
EDIT: Already did 13_8, 13_9 myself but feel free to do the rest.
@Trot
Thank you for the bug report.

Ok 1947 as Iberia, was Rep Spain till 1942...The whole thing is currently seesawing back and forth...the Russians have taken Finland and part of Norway, splitting it with the Americans. The Americans finally landed on the French Coast but have been unsuccessful in engineering a breakout...The Soviets have been unable to push into Poland. The Japanese has taken all but the most Western Portions of India until Persia had a democratic coup and the African divisions started pouring in. The two of them are fighting in the middle of India still. Japan has taken most of the Pacific but still hasn't taken Hollandia which would allow it to annex the Netherlands. The Soviets have annexed Manchukuo but the Japanese have pushed into Mongolia and are driving up the coast from Vladivostok. I think manpower or the lack of it is what's going to eventually kill off the Axis. Unless they manage to pull off a miracle.

And here I thought, I was the only one wondering about this ridiculously successful Japanese Empire AI...
(in my last game they were able to get 50% of Australia by 1950)

Nomonhan... you got a pm ;)

Impressive reports. It looks like play as the Americans is more challenging, so I might have to take a look at the USA AI. As for Japan's impressive performance, both Mao Zedong and Li Zongren have written about their perception of Japanese mistakes in the war. Won't do anything about USA IC until I've exhausted other ideas--specifically keeping the Nationalist Chinese in the war once the US gets involved. Much has been written about how Hitler interfered with his generals--Hirohito did also but to a lesser extent--he just wanted people to come to him to get everything authorized. The patch team succeeded in keeping Japan from conquering China so easily but by 1940 or 41 their technology and doctrines are too much for China so they often puppet China anyway--just later.
