Having generated some interest I would propose a team to construct this mod. There would be three stages to the development:
1) Determine the scope, objectives and overall format of the mod.
2) Research
3) Constructing the mod
For the research stage, I propose that we seek some level of realism, and obtain the following information about each nation:
1) Government type, ideology and heads of state
2) For each playable nation, also ministers and leaders during the period, and major opposition figures at various times (for use in counterfactual events)
3) For each playable nation and important non-major, OOB and tech levels at various points during the game period
4) For each playable and each region of the globe, major historical events
Each team member would be assigned a playable and related global region to research. Each member then will present a report with the research and a proposal for ministers, leaders, OOB chart, borders and events for inclusion in the game.
Once we decide on what to include in the game, we would begin constructing the actual mod, such as making the map, making and placing forces, developing political structures and economies, and coding events.
I propose the following playable nations:
USA
USSR
Communist China
Nationalist China
UK
France
Japan
Germany/West Germany
Please post which playables you would like to research. If we get someone for each playable then we can move forward with the project. I will then create a message board for the mod team.
