He really seems to get better at the game. Still some flawed decisions imo, but overall, he seems to get the important stuff. And he still creates excitement (at least in me. I so much want to play this!)
I enjoy watching him too, but he is still very bad at the game. Part of the blame goes to the game being too easy and part goes to him purposely not learning about the game off stream in order to make an enjoyable learn together as we go stream.
The initiative system allows you to do truly wicked things especially if your opponent never reserves. If the AI moved to contact with high evasion and reserved its units while Cohh did not, it could fire all of its units twice at one of Cohh's mechs before he got to move it again.(a little size dependent or assuming a knockdown in there somewhere) If the AI did that, Cohh would learn the possibilities instantly. Instead, the AI has not truly challenged him and he does not understand the initiative system yet.
You could make similar arguments for sensor lock, sighting range and LOS abuse. The AI only uses stock mechs, so Cohh will never see the meta builds either.
These are observations, not criticisms. He is incredibly successful at what he does and seems perfect for showcasing battletech.
On a lighter note, I jumped out of my chair and threw my hands up in the air when he head capped the firestarter. YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
On the salvage screen, he picked two Panther pieces so that he could build it. NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!
Not a bad decision, I just want a firestarter badly.
