That's the most amusing part. He doesn't waste shots, per se. He just makes inadvisable moves to get the shots. Damn near every shot he took was a "good" shot as long as you ignore the fact the blackjack was likely going to get hit back by everything left on the battlefield. He survives all that though, and then gets obliterated because he kept using it as a battering ram. It's a tactic that can work perfectly fine in a skirmish, but will probably get you bankrupt in the campaign.

I think that was more due to tunnel vision. He completely forgot about placement and firing and just headbutted, because he was getting worried about ammo/another boss-mech popping up after he finished the others.
I'm really enjoying his approach. He knows a *little* about the lore and a few basic tactic from playing Mechwarrior 2 when he was a kid, but the rest is a learning experience. he makes stupid mistakes that I wouldn't, but I like to see what the result of those mistakes are in case I'm wrong.

I agree. It's fun to watch. I'm actually rooting for him.

So many times I found myself yelling that he should be using his LRMs when he wasn't firing them because they were a low chance shot.

No...... that's the benefit of LRMs and SRMs. They are great for low chance shots because the averages catch up and you get some damage at least instead of nothing because you didn't fire them.

And yeah he really watches his ammo closely. Which is something we will have to learn to do coming from skirmish. But when you have a lot of reloads, watching the ammo is not the best because you need as much damage as possible.

He already felt the pinch with the Blackjack's new twin AC/5s having only 1 ton of ammo (15 shots) between them. It looks like an obvious upgrade for the BJ but I'm not convinced it makes for a better mech in the long run. No jump jets and only 2 medium lasers once the AC/5s run dry.... that will come back to haunt him in a prolonged battle.

My take from some of his conversation with chat was that he was under the impression that he had finite ammo stores on the Leopard and didn't want to use them up when they might be needed on future missions. I think he realized toward the end of the 2nd stream that this wasn't the case but had already gotten in the habit of it.

On another note, wow, that lunar map.

Shows how he has had to frankenmech his Blackjack. He lost the AC/2 and didn't have a replacement, so dropped in the AC/5 and took out some M-lasers to fit it and then put in the other AC/5 to match.

The mission with the BJ-1, there was one turn where it was right on the verge of falling and Cohh decides to shoot only his PPC and not his 40% to hit LRM...and then missed with the PPC. He wasn't even near overheating. Newb mistake!

I've just noticed that on Cohh's YouTube, his BattleTech videos are roughly as popular as the Far Cry 5 ones.

His first BT video has 25k views in one day, while the first Far Cry 5 has 22k in four days (and the first Yakuza 0 video has 24k over a whole month). The rest of their view counts seem comparable so far when considering the length of time the videos have been up and the natural drop-off in viewership as a game goes on.

So... a good sign of interest?

Mixed, I think. Farcry 5 is... um.
But on the other hand, his live stream has 10,000 people watching right now, rather good for small studio turned based strategy, rather than a AAA meme generator.

Its currently deep in spoiler territory for anyone who wants to tune in, but the current fight is pretty amazing- some real tonnage is stomping around.
And his current Centurion build is pretty good.

Welp.
Dekker just got Kiva'd!
Jaegermechs don't like Blackjacks, apparently.

I dislike that a lot. I don't mind at all that kickstarters get their name in the game, but the tooltip is just too meta. It breaks my immersion. It also seems they're immortal, or does max injury not always result in death?

Maximum injury does not ALWAYS end in death, but it will end in a huge hospital stay. That's the last I heard of it.

That was an assumption on his part, because the previous pilot had died. But I think the other pilot had been injured before CT destruction, while the second just had his CT cored out.

They *might* be immortal, but there was some conclusion jumping.

Anyone have any thoughts on the bugged mission (eliminate a scout lance)? I'm not a programmer by any measure but it seemed like the game was missing a file it needed to load because it kept cycling and trying to load.

It's not uncommon for the loading indicated icon to continue to loop while the loading process itself is hung as they commonly are two separate processes. The main process will initiate a timer from the last time the loading process responded to its query and when that timer is up it will throw an exception to the OS.

It could be anything, but if it throws an exception code that may be useful to the devs.
