I put myself into the game using the ruler DLC but had a hard time creating a simplified version of my family coat of arms (Campbell), as I couldn't get the shapes to fit seamlessly and there's no true yellow:

As I was playing, I noticed that the image already exists in the game as the county crest for Argyll, due to my ancestors links with the area (I'll forgive Paradox for being a couple of hundred years early) ;) I felt a bit ashamed that I hadn't noticed this before, but I reconciled myself with the fact I haven't been playing long and it's both a small and simplified graphic :eek:o

When I located the above image in the game folder, I also found the Argyllshire coat of arms. Looking around, I also noticed that there were entries for both Campbell and Caimbeul variants in the dynasties.txt

Is there any way I could steal one of the better versions to use as my dynasty arms? I also wonder if there will be any conflicts when the other Campbell dynasties arrive later? I presume, if duplicate dynasties don't already exist in the game, that paradox would have taken the possibility into account when designing the dlc. Lastly, are the dynasty arms that you see in the game located in any of the folders as graphics? I could only find the county ones, so I presume it's an algorithm or something? Not that I know much about this sort of thing as you can probably tell :p

Thanks in advance for any help :)

You should be able to make this easily with pleasing colours using my mod. :)

Thanks mate :) I'm a mod-virgin, but I've downloaded it and I'll give it a try tomorrow. I'll keep an eye on this thread, for other options and answers, and share any helpful feedback I can when I've tried out your mod ;)

Unfortunately I couldn't quite figure out how to use the mod, but I didn't see the pattern I need in the tga file in any case. Wish I could just somehow steal the pattern from the game folder and apply it to my dynasty COA

Sorry, I was being a dumbass before (I'm new to all this). The mod is really easy to use and works seamlessly with the ruler designer DLC :)

yes it does. in short it is exactly the same method used for dynasty coa DLC.

one very important thing is to not forget the line "random = no" in coa.txt
you can use any size, especially if you want to work with composed arms like you showed with really tiny elements. (I tried 256*256, it worked like a charm)

Thanks, that's great news :D I'll try adding a gyronny of 8 to the tga file in Keanon's mod first, as I think it will be simpler for me. Then I'll have a crack at the second method for something more detailed, knowing a have the former to fall back it. "The Campbells are coming Ho-Ro, Ho-Ro!" :D
