Can you guys help me with following problem? Playing as Italy I want to protect myself from possible Allied invasion of Sicily. I want to build a static defenses on the strait, defending the Italian mainland.
My problem is? When defending against land-based attack across the strait coming from Sicily, would my army actually use land forts or coastal forts for defence?
I reckon that coastal forts are most logical choice, bur I have doubts whether the game model recognises attack across the strait as a sea-borne invasion (coastal fort would provide bonus to the defender), or a regular land attack, as if a strait was but a big river (land fort would help the defender)
Does anyone actually know the answert to that? Thanks in advance.
