Coalition War but not all coalition members called?

I'm playing the Ottomans and a large number of countries in Europe, including Hungary, Spain, Austria, and Poland are in a coalition against me. Hungary DOWed me with the coalition CB, and that only brought in Spain and its allies (Portugal and its PU Burgundy). I'm not complaining, but why would the other countries in the coalition not join? I don't even have any truces with them...

Were some of the members of the coalition at war with one another or Hungary when Hungary declared war on you? Even if they're in a coalition they can't join a war if they're fighting on the opposite in another war.

I´ve had Burgundy on my side and it then jumped into war against me when I attacked Austria. This was aggressive war, but on the other hand they weren´t in the coalition against me...

Nope, Hungary isn't at war with anyone else, and Spain's only other war is against Aztec.

All coalition members are only called in defensive wars. Countries are much less likely to join an offensive coalition war, especially if they don't have claims against you.

As far as I know it doesn't give you a choice when you join a coalition war but if you have a truce with one of them(only works if it is a defensive war) or another war is preventing them(the other coalition members might be at war with each other?) it doesn't call

Ah, I see. That's good news for me since it means I only have to fight all of them when I decide that I can.

The nations that didn't join the first coalition war can still DOW you and form another Coalition Punitive War while you are still fighting the first one. Happens to me all the time when I get too greedy.
