With the background as the picturesque Canal Royal, Moreau-Dumont stepped up to the podium, took a glass of water and spoke. His rural Nouvelle Aquitane accent was distinct, but not out-of-the-ordinary in Verneuil, and the assorted group of Journalists and Townsfolk listened intently.
I begin the Coalition des Latins Démocratiques Campaign here, in the beautiful town of Verneuil. Unlike the other parties, the ESA, the UMP and the CUE, we are not asking for your vote, we are asking for you to open your eyes.
In Term X, the Politicians sitting cosy in Eutopia City have accomplished nothing. PDRA failed. The Budget never even appeared, let alone discussed in the GA. EPPA failed. Eutopian Guaranteed Government Constitutional Amendment failed. VAT failed twice. I could go on and on, but I won't. It is clear what has happened.
The politicians in Eutopia City have failed the hard-working people not only in Nouvelle Aquitane and Novelle Anjou, but around the nation. The President blames it on VAT, Fourgéres makes promises, and the CUE? They haven't told me what they think, only single handidly insulting our neighbours by calling them Eutopian.
The CLD belives that you should make your decisions, that local people have more of a voice at local levels, that more power should go to the Provinces, and less to the Federal Government that has failed us yet again.
We will ensure that the Franco-Eutopian community is safeguarded and empowered, that Education will stay with the Provinces and encourage more representation of Franco-Eutopians throught the nation. Did you know that there has been one Latin President and 11 Anglo Presidents? That there has been one Latin Speaker of the NA and 11 Anglo speakers? At least things are looking up, with Talbott still going strong, and Fourgéres in the Presidential race.
This is the CLD's message: Stand up and be counted. Vote not for excuses, promises and inactivity, but for you and your fellow Franco-Eutopians. Vote CLD.
