As most players know, the only way AI countries can declare war during a truce is as a member of a coalition. I am now fighting my 3rd war in less than 5 years because each time a different country in the coalition has DOW me. I'm not exactly sure how they are able to do that. I think it's because they did not join the war the first time but they still remain in the coalition. This is rapidly turning into BS. Either turn off the Coalition CB or make it work right.

If you attack a member of the coalition, every member of the coalition will join, regardless of truce.
If a member of the coalition attacks you, only those not at truce with you will join.

Being in a coalition does not let you break truce without penalty when attacking the target. When there are 3 or more nations with AE against you in a coalition against you and not in a truce with you, they can get the CB and attack.

If you piss off half a dozen to a dozen nations at a time, yes, they will end up launching continuous and staggered coalition wars due to truce timers. Whoever you were just fighting with that you peaced out on will probably join the coalition, but can't attack or join in for 5 years. Then a bunch of other unrelated nations join in and start their own war against you. And a bunch of nations who were busy fighting a different war will join the coalition upon the ending of that war, then start one against you.

The coalition CB is working just fine. Make smarter moves. You made too many people angry. Surrender, cancel a vassal, release a nation, give back a province. Only way you're going to drop a lot of people out.

Or just conquer everyone. People won't complain if they're suffocating under your benevolent rule, after all.

That's generally an option for some specific regions. Portugal, allied to France, can pretty much decimate Castile and Aragon and nobody will care.

Ottomans can utterly wreck Egypt and simply fight the coalition.

Then why am I in my 3rd war in less than 5 years with Austria and other members of the coalition? And I did not attack anybody. Are you saying I had 3 coalitions against me and HRE gets to join in every one regardless of truce?

The only time the AI will join a war when they're at truce with you are:
1) Defensive Coalition War
2) They're actually joining another war, which you happen to be a part of, in which case it's a case of whether they have a truce with the actual war leader.

If people form coalition then you probably have attacked and conquered something(or perhaps integrated a very big country). ai doesn't do coalition wars becus of nothing.

Lets say that 15 countries join, the first war 5 of the countries join. You win. Some of the defeated rejoin, another member starts a war against you with Austria joining in again.

You either need to destroy the world or get the AE down, release a nation and try to dip vassal them back in. That should stop them.
