Hey guys,
after Sunset Harbor (at least I think) I noticed a problem with coal power plant on some maps. I start a city, build initial power plant, and it never gets any supply of coal. I am talking about really small cities, sub 1k citizens, not much wrong you could do at this point. Is this happening to anyone else? Any solutions (besides building wind mills)?
Cheers!

However I think this should not be a problem, played this many times, and the game never required ore industry for the plant to operate. This only started happening fairly recently...

It's more because the trucks that supply the fuel aren't getting through quick enough. An ore Industry area helps cut down some of need for import.

How far away is your nearest highway that leads to the outside?

You can see the roundabout in the picture, it's really close from there (maybe 1/4 of the square size). I need 2,800 ppl for industry, and then will have to find place to build it, however I guess by then I won't care (will have other sources of power). It just seem weird that this would sometime work, but sometime not, without any real difference in map or anything else (at least as far as I can see).

I do agree it's kind of weird. Usually this kind of thing isn't a problem until the city is larger, but you never know.

Does the plant actually run out of power? In your screenshot you seem to be about 6 month into the game and power is still there. As far as I remember, plants have a coal supply for at least 40 weeks, especially when they are not under full load. Maybe it's just too early for the first coal truck?
The road network seems to be fine.

Yes, the plant eventually runs out of coal and stops generating power.
