Hey so this is my first post/suggestion so I'll take any criticism about this topic or how I wrote it.

So as I was at work doing what everyone else does at work and that is think of Stellaris I had an idea sprung from me watching the clone war series for Star Wars. What if we could make clone armies, now obviously this is an after launch content since we're so close to release but I thought it would be cool to discuss. Now a clone army is recruited the same way other armies are with a few key differences one of which would be you'd have to select one species in your empire to use as clones for your army it's like you took the Blorg with the best hugs and made a thousand of him to spread friendship.
Now some pros:

1. All the combat stats are increased more than a regular army would be.

2. Moral would be high always do to them being breed to fight.

So all in all they would be superior fighters compared to any other standard army you have.
So how about some negatives:

1. Required to have a clone facility on a planet which are really expensive.

2. Takes longer to recruit (if there is a time to produce) due to training from birth.

3. This super species are only for your armies so no civilian pops can be created.

Technology would help all these stats as your cloning tech increases.

So we have our clones and our colonies built as clone worlds (very expensive to lose) so what else can a clone dlc add well A new trait for species that makes them masters at cloning. This way you can have a species who when working or researching cloning buildings or tech there is an increase to its effectiveness or research speed.

I believe this Idea has merit although it is definitively like you suggested for DLC or an Expansion after release but it is a fairly good idea a superior soldier if not necessarily clones.

Also the topic written just fine, don't worry about it. :)

now obviously this is an after launch content

Well now wait a minute. No there has been no mention, no screenshot or what have you.

But they said every, or many common science fiction tropes would be in the game. And I would put forth the notion that clones are at least not an uncommon trope, definitely a prominent one.

More prominent then the psionic troopers (not that I'm complaining about the psionic troopers) in my opinion.

So maybe they have thought of it. If not definitely something worth a DLC.

And I would perhaps argue, that these clones should not start as super humans without some research or something required. And honestly restricted per the ethos or the government why not grow clone pops?

In the Uplifting Dev Diary comments, it was implied that there would be clone armies at release. Go sort by Dev only comments.
