If mobility is a factor in combat (not just in moving from one province to another) the climactic conditions should be taken into account in combat resolution.:)

Certainly should affect mobility in the coldest parts of winter. And one of the Paradoxies said that there would be no air operations in storms.:)

Winter got an important rolle escpecilly in 1941 so I want something bigger than just mobillity decrease.
Maybe morale losse, operational restriction, air restriction, moblility, and all other factors that affect combat.
Soviets should also suffer some penalty but not as much as wermacht

We know that from the first post in the thread. But the discussion was about how climate would affect combat.:)

The classic example of how climate affects combat that immediately comes to mind is decreased defence values for non-Finnish Axis units during winter on the Eastern Front. Another might be to prohibit combat altogether in dense jungle during monsoon season, or at least severly reduce attack values.

Based on the interview, and taking the Russian Winter as an example, I could see non-Finnish Axis units taking a hefty morale hit and taking larger physical losses than normal while Russian units received a morale bonus and took lower physical losses. I imagine that a similar approach might be taken to model other climatic effects.
