And right now, it doesn't.
There's a bunch of examples of this. Clicking on a megastructure from the galaxy map doesn't bring you to the megastructure. Clicking it in the thing on the right side of the screen doesn't either because, as far as I can tell, there's no way to make it show up there. Clicking on factions there does bring up the faction menu, but it doesn't select the faction you clicked, which it should. And if you have a sector which is short on on resources, clicking that pop-up not only fails to bring you to the correct sector, it doesn't do anything.
Stellaris has pretty decent UI overall, but the implementation is so inconsistent and wonky, with this in addition to the tendency of typos and missing localizations (not overwhelmingly frequent, but there's always a few that make it in) I feel like the Quality Assurance team must be overworked, undertrained, or both.
